For those BB readers unfamiliar with The Fast Show, here's an introduction to 11-V1's Sales and Marketing guru - aka Swiss Tony - as suggested by Sweenoid.Enjoy!http://youtu.be/8Ocn8w-yQjc

2-5 broker notes should be a very short sentence.
We are unable to give any guidance due to inconsistent messages given by the company.

I also listened to the cc and the bit at the end was a disconnect from what was said before. Before the 2019 bit, I thought they said that when they bought it, it was up and running and had continued to be so. So, the no revenue part didn't make any sense (to me). I wonder if they meant earnings (i.e. profit) ? I think the question had been when the plant would contribute to ii earnings.I will drop them an email and ask for any clarification on that. After I have listened to it again (after golf).

Apparently Apple are going to stop using Qualcomm chips, they have had a big falling out. I'm not a techie so have no idea whether this is good, bad or indifferent for IQE, but if it paves the way to upgrading the way iPads and iPhones connect wirelessly it could presumably present opportunities.

Kazoom:I heard the reference to Vick Sell too and it made me smile - Yanks have a penchant for nomenclature don't they?As a golfer I've always admired the ride-on golf car brand E-Z-Go . . . says it all doesn't it? But Vick Sell? If you're a fan of The Fast Show then maybe Vick Sell is Pennsylvania's equivalent of Swiss Tony, the used car salesman that Sweenoid believes runs 11-V1's sales and marketing division.Did you run out of patience listening to the CC? Right at the end they fielded one last question about the VCSEL sales revenues anticipated from their $80M Kaiam/Newton Aycliffe plant. They replied thus:". . . plan to continue to invest in equipment, R&D and qualification for the years ahead with no revenue generation foreseeable til FY2019."They are thus quite some distance from encroaching on IQE's dominant market share. As Vick Sell would say . . . "Manufacturing compound semiconductors is much like making love to a beautiful woman. First you lay down the wafer, then you carefully and meticulously add - layer by layer - the preferred exotic material, atom by atom, until you finally and proudly present your perfectly formed and much sought-after 6 inch finished product."

Early reviews of the X are very positive with regards to face ID, pleasantly surprising seems to be the consensus.

If customer sentiment reflects the early reviews, it can only bode well for the future and increase the potential for other applications to adopt the same technology. I do think it has the potential to become the de-facto security method for a number of applications.

Pure speculation of course, but the early signs are promising.

I thought I would expand my knowledge of this sector by listening to the 2-6 results call, so was I just wasted an hour that I will never get back.

Was it just me or was that the biggest pile of BS ever?

Particularly the Q&A :

Can't tell you that, because we don't forecast by product, our customers might choose to buy anything.
Can't tell you that, because we don't forecast by segement, we have no ideas which customers will buy from us - could be any of them.
Can't tell you that, because we do not forecast by geography, we have no idea where active customers might actually come from.

2-6 might be the best investment ever, but I could never buy it with this level of IR.

If there was anything I could tentatively take away from this it would be (1) a reinforcement that the V[i]CSEL {that appears to be how they pronounce it) market will is confirmed to be buoyant , (2) They are doing better than excepted and enhancing their wafer production , (3) They made a claim to be global leaders in VCSEL production, when I thought conventional wisdom was that was IQE?

But in reality I don't really think I learnt anything (that I could trust) from that call - was I just not listening right?

Regas, ok i get it. So you can see where this is heading but you're less bullish than DS.

I can forgive him, or anybody else, taking some profit when they've clearly made a very good profit. I can especially excuse that from somebody who has contributed an awful lot to educating others - yes, in a very bullish manner - on the depth of opportunity here.

Not sure about "i've never known anyone break so many promises which has resulted in misleading fellow gamblers".

For you it may be a gamble, for me its a considered investment. Apart from selling a few shares, what are some of the many broken promises you're referring to?
