That's the kind of update I like to see from my investments, a slow and steady turnaround.
It seems to me that a 'bowl' is forming on the share price.

You think I jest Abid? There is a poster on here who has studied this aspect more than most, including Graham. Sometimes you have to really alienate a thread to really talk at the very few people who really want to be told.

Abid mate, you're not digging me at all bro. I'm not expecting profit forecasts because there won't be any. This Iodine lark has never been about making money, it's about losing just enough money until someone discovers oil very nearby.

Eh Banksy? pmsl

Abid

That's the good thing we already know the revenue number. Forecast up over 35 percent v last year in a tumbling iodine price market.

With all the cost savings put in place I think they will reverse the H1 loss, which as it happens was far better than I was expecting considering the wanton destruction by G and G.

When that news comes as usual it will be a surprise to the market.

So I have my plans. Seller around, who btw could have let it go this morning and leave a few buying in the 40's only to see mid 30's return.

So on the positive side we have good results coming, a very high chance of getting the water permit, and the strategic growth plan, all before a week or so of insti presentations.
Personally I think IOF are priming the fuse. That short and sweet rns said it all to me.

If we get the permit institutions will have hands in the air for fund raising, however, homework done and I believe a JV is likely with cash up front. I have 3 favourites, Hal, Oasis or Select energy, there are others. I've gone for the obvious ones.

Just over a month to wait for actual financial numbers I am sure you will get a better sense of profit forecasts at that point. Strategic review outcome to come as well to coincide with hearing result. In the grand scheme of things not long to wait to have points proven or disproven whether you are bullish or bearish.

I don't know how many times I've read 'record month' mate, yet I've never yet seen a single pre-tax profit estimate.

In my opinion this production update is absolutely crucial. It's the one thing that could have derailed the company, but has not done so. After the previous production update, which was only just inside the target, I was a little anxious. Now I am not, especially with March being a record month. Water will be a great extra, if it comes. But it's not essential. We have been told the derivatives side is good. All other future possibilities seem good, from the price of iodine to helium and other things.

Yes, but as I'm merely a humble private investor - as my paid membership demands - I am perfectly entitled to give an assessment of my views, with my personal rating of this stock. It is allowed you know? LOL

Twenty grand a post? pmsl ;)

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is often criticised by advisers over the size of the fines it hands out to wrongdoers, which they argue appear arbitrary or disproportionate to the offence committed.

Well, no such complaints could be made against the regulator yesterday over the £19,900 it fined former adviser Ewan King, who was caught faking his Statement of Professional Standing and giving advice without the necessary qualifications.

Well, the number was good, but one wonders why the lack of profit guidence? I suspect margins continue to be slashed at the business end and another year of losses is well on the cards here. I am also factoring in a moderate fund raise and a reneogotiation of debt terms. A MV of a around £50m is still asking a lot here and as such the stock is still too high. Sell.

If it costs $1.5 mill or less to move Io1 then move it imo. Unless of course they can build a new one for that or less.

The US lot seem so slow and building things, plants like that would fly up in just weeks here.

Meb, I think there are a lot of investors looking to get in here after today's update and ahead of results.Let the traders get out this morning, I think on the face of it, we will move into the 40s from here with any residual doubts on production figures out of the way.Market uncertainty cleared.

I think they will go back to the basics. The logic on automation doesn't stack up other than human error. I think the original plan was an idea re reducing staff.

I fail to see how such large plants could work with one operator, with various chemicals and potential gases about, surely for safety, 2 at all times is the minimum.

% yields are much the same at io1 as anywhere else. They show lower at io1 because the water isn't as hot there, as it gets trucked in. 40 C is the optimum temp.

The one thing with io1 is that it was running more or less constantly, so keeping it simple may be the answer, and will reduce the cost of plants.

odvod,

Firstly it seems to be a good idea to close I01. It saves wages and admin costs. I too would have liked to hear that the plant is to be moved to a more productive location and perhaps it will be in time. Meanwhile, however, we possibly have a good stock of spare parts for existing plants ( dependent upon sizes, capacities etc)

Moving IO1: my guess is that - being the prototype - it may be so out of date now that it doesn't warrant using it again at these iodine prices at any location.

Best wishes - Mike
