I hope they are not waiting for the water permit award to offset any bad news re production figures.
I mean how long does it take to add up the figures and put it in writing.

Could you clarify?

peterz and others - An RNS would be good anytime . . .

Iofina shot themselves in the foot when they dropped the 'monthly' update figures.

There is just so much they could comment on but don't. The maxim used to be get good news out asap and hold back the bad. This share is gonna need one hell of an RNS and should it come the price might surge but then that would fly in the face of IOFs stated intention of preventing price volatility by 'managing' news

It doesn't make any sense.

Fresh

I can't see any obvious changes on the website. What changes have you noted (if you want to share).

That said I have increased my checking of the site in the last 48hrs , so I'm curious about your comment.

But IOF ARE producing iodine ??? and ARE going to expand, that's what I said it was a daft comment. Around 500mt forecast this year, in terms of raw iodine prices that's $500,000 per $ on any price move

When RHPS were tipping it because of the Japan issue, at that time IOF were buying iodine for IOF shot up, while they honoured contract prices. The share price went to 30p on the back of the RHPS tip and privately I was telling CK to sell due to RHPS. At 17/18p I thought that was the bottom at the time, and that's when I thought it was time to buy.

Sg1,

"Of course such problems for companies supplying 60% of the world demand is irrelevant to the iodine business, and IOF apparently."

If this is referring to posts by Monkeymagic (and myself) I want to make it perfectly clear that we both said words to the effect that it doesn't matter a rat's (whatever Mr Lenigas said)what is happening in Chile if IOF aren't producing. I still stand by that.
I first bought into IOF when CK told you that there was a shortage of iodine due to the Fukushima disaster and the price of iodine was shooting up. Obviously if things do tank in Chile the price of iodine will rise again. However if IOF aren't producing very much they will not be able to take full advantage of the situation. When the IOF share price was at it's height many of us agreed to allow you to be our spokesman to IOF rather than us all swamping them with e-mails. We trusted you. Now it may be that because of this you have had a little more info than us mere mortals but at the moment the amount of production is pure conjecture. Hence Monkey's and my comments. Hopefully at 07:00 today an RNS will invalidate this post and we'll all be best mates again.
Best wishes

Bazz

Besides all the corruption, theft, bribery.....................(monty python 'what have the Romans done for us' sketch, their main concern right now is those lithium leases owned by CORFO. 39% of their business. Then comes the water rights.

Now that one has been puzzling me for a while as I couldn't work out why when Cosayach took water it destroyed part of a national reserve. I've since realised SQM are not using much of those rights and if they do surely the same problem will arise meaning they can't take the water.

Cosayach have already proven that, and have been prosecuted for the environmental damage, SQM were involved in pursuing the case. It seems they have shot themselves in the foot as they now know use of those rights causes environmental damage.

With the drought getting worse it must surely only be a matter of time until their current use creates the same problem. If such a problem does appear they have already shown the courts that they would are the guilty party.

Thanks Fresh yours is posts 16 and the first one relevance of 18 unread, most of the unread are filtered so it doesn't take long.

Some say what I think but I fall short of such levels as it's just pointless.

In short Ponce Lerou became a billionaire by becoming the boss of CORFO then giving himself and mates all they needed in land, leases and unpaid loans to make themselves rich.

Some thought this day would never come in Chile. It will be interesting to see what the end result is for Ponce Lerou and a host of other high level figures.

Of course such problems for companies supplying 60% of the world demand is irrelevant to the iodine business, and IOF apparently.

I love towing the line....specially if I've got big one on the end, I enjoyed our banter during the FWC less to loose just a laugh at others expense.

You are obviously a shorter of stocks, finding those nuggets that promise fortunes beyond your wildest dreams only to leave investors holding a worthless piece of paper.

This seems to be your favourite play at the moment/. Time for another beer cheers.

Here's what happens beeezzz... the blacks have to tow the line, the blues don't. It's what you might call a bind. So how does Graham get rid of blues? The bar is high mate, and the framework isn't all that positive on this one. So he's got to either accept the lie of the land, or start something up like QFI did. Problem with that? The exclusivity of the agenda breeds contempt.

See the bind?

beeezzz, when you say 'I very rarely look at this thread anymore its just polar opposites extreme to point of madness'... That's not the impression I get bud. In fact the casual observer could think that there is a distinct lack of balance. Which makes me think, why is there always a false narrative on here?

ACT....you have far too much time on your hands....get a job.

I very rarely look at this thread anymore its just polar opposites extreme to point of madness, why some posters continually rubbish companies they have no holding in is beyond me....get a life. Investors should concentrate on what the company says not those with an agenda that is in no way representative of the company rather just muck spreading.
