30/5/2024 11:30 | This is going to be like watching paint dry now ☹ | ![]() cherryandwhite1
30/5/2024 10:41 | Not my real name, Yes the unions will behave like Pavlov's dogs and do the Chezk's work for him. It's the Mail side that loses all the money, so favour those working in the parcels service, and let the Mail lot go into siege mentality until it ca be declared bust. Then re-start under sensible business like parameters. After a suitably long hiatus of there being no mail, the public will settle for anything that gets things moving again. If it also saves the government loads of dosh they will acquiesce, and given it will be a new government, they can point to being pragmatic to save the country money, while delivering efficiency! This bloke hasn't made himself a billionaire by chance. It's going to be fascinating to watch how it pans out. | ![]() lefrene
30/5/2024 06:10 | Relax..........the public purse have already picked the bill up for this since 2012. "Since 13 June 2011, the Government assumed responsibility for both the Royal Mail Pension Plan (“RMPP”) deficit and the majority of the RMPP's liabilities. | ![]() caveater
30/5/2024 05:59 | The Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme (RMSPS) deficit increased to over £50 billion as at 31 March 2022, up from £48 billion in March 2021, according to the latest Annual Report and Accounts published by the government.....Hope this liability is being taken into consideration and the government aren't going to palm it onto the public. | ![]() caveater
29/5/2024 21:00 | If this share price just hovers around this price until all is settled it just proves how manipulated and corrupt and disingenuous the market makers really are. | ![]() cherryandwhite1
29/5/2024 16:29 | Not my real name, I had a scan through the 63 pages but fell asleep half way through :-) | ![]() crystball1
29/5/2024 15:33 | crystball1, Maybe you could ask your crystal ball to open the RNS issued at 0700 this morning which answers all your questions and more. :-) Lefrene, I have had a massive smile on my face all morning. No need to take on the Union, they are so fired up they are likely to spontaneously combust before the day is out! Absolute joy to see their reaction, they've been telling everyone it was just a tree shake and he would never make an offer. Oops! NMRN | ![]() not my real name
29/5/2024 15:08 | The market is flushing out the weak holders and nervous to lock in a profit holders. This deal is going through | ![]() moorsie2
29/5/2024 13:43 | I think that it will. There is a commitment not to break-up ids for 5 years. The only issue is influence of a 'foreigner'... they should give him citizenship. | ![]() casholaa
29/5/2024 13:31 | This deal will never go through and the city knows it. | ![]() porsche1945
29/5/2024 12:18 | If this does go ahead it will be fascinating to see this fellow give it a dose of salts. Swathes of managers can be binned straight away, and a close look at all the empty mileage should see some pruning too. The unions are in for an interesting time, as RM will finally join the real world. My strategy would be to get the unions to strike for as long as possible, let the Mail network dry up, and only slowly piece-meal re-open those areas that make money, such that the public would be grateful for any kind of service at all. The difference being that this man will own it, he will be focused on business efficiency, rather than being focused on wheedling a career up a greasy pole of political in-fighting, looking after their private interests, rather than focusing on maximising returns for shareholders. My guess he will sort it out in three years or less, and sell it for double what he paid. | ![]() lefrene
29/5/2024 11:51 | If the takeover goes ahead, when might we receive our 370p a share plus 2p dividend and 8p a share special dividend? I just want to crystalize a profit and then decide what to do with the proceeds. | ![]() crystball1

29/5/2024 08:24 | That Labour will bow immediately to Union pressure , will set the tone for their administrations five years . | ![]() holts

29/5/2024 08:10 | If the cash offer is 360p cash and 8p dividend, why is the current price 330p? Buy now at 330p and take the 368p cash in a few months? 38p "profit" What am i missing? | ![]() bigwadds
29/5/2024 07:12 | I just hope SIR VINCE CABLE and David Cameron Choke on their cornflakes this morning when the post is delivered. Pair of mealy mouthed scumbags. | ![]() jubberjim

28/5/2024 23:27 | Difficult to reconcile a 321p closing price with very bullish commentary from the media and elsewhere that an agreed deal at or above 370p is a slam dunk to be announced tomorrow. | ![]() pdosullivan |
