Toon, they say you never make a loss until you realise it, ignorance and his inability to realise he's lost money doesn't mean he didn't actually lose it.

Next we'll get that old chestnut from him, "I sold at a profit before the sudden drop".
Yeah, right ;)

Shareprice drop is like chinese water torture drip, drip, down a few pence every day, cant see where any good news coming from for airlines, until vaccine found, no one in their right mind will fly until then.

135p still generous, market cap 2.7 billion even then, bulls say cash, but look at the debt.

Monty, fancy listing what shares you are long on and your buy prices?
No, of course not, you in denial and worried that others may think you a plank.
My portfolio is at break even, was up 15% but eroded down to 1% up.

From a selfish view I am am liking this as looking for entry point but you have to feel sorry for companies like this.Well run, got over numerous sticky patches to be then confronted with something out of their control.Companies not so well run who have not planned for a rainy day less sympathy but IAG seem pretty switched on and deserve some support to get through this if needed

My understanding is that airplanes recirculate air with no real filtration, and definitely not at a microbe/ virus level. therefore how does this work? people fly, potentially exposed based on even 1 person on the plane being infected and then how do they enforce the 14 day quarantine? much like schools opening on 1st june.. I dont see how this works.

unless the view as many people have suggested is that the real infection rate is much higher, but its not something the gov can say publicly at least yet.

you forgot to look at debt. cash is temporary, incinerated by trading losses, debt is permanent.

Qatar is a LNG gas supplier, rather than oil, and has been less affected by oil price crash.

135p market cap 2.7 billion, that's generous, bulls say look at cash, yes, but look at debt. No business with planes on sitting idle on Tarmac, quarantine rule final nail. Talk of second wave, no one in their right mind will fly without a vaccine, surely.

Worst case, Qatar does the same for IAG as they just done for Cathay Pacific, as they did for Barclays in 2009, they protect their investments.
