FFS M1 it's all about you isn't it.Youre crying about your job one minute (totally get that and wish the best for you) but when someone else has a glimmer of opportunity elsewhere, you're back in to brandishing pitch forks and burn the pilots mode. Since when have you been worried about the tax payers funds? Did you turn down any furloughing payments if your were offered them to help the tax payer? Would you expect the cabin crew to be taken on by Rolls Royce, if they offered secondments to BAs engine technicians?I agree with Smithy, if BA can have staff seconded, it gives them a decent chance of managing the upswing...when it eventually comes. For any staff that went in to the services on secondment, it would not be a case of 'tally-ho' Lord Flasheart (ala Blaxkadder Goes Fourth), they'd be signing up to serve their country. They could go to war or to war zones at a moments notice, if the MOD decide that's what they want to do next week. That's not a lifestyle that many or their families would be comfortable with and I'm sure would be a huge undertaking. I'm very proud of our emergency and military services and take my hat off to anyone who would risk their lives in these roles. You are a useful window into life at BA for which we are grateful. However, please let your personal hang-ups with the pilots go, as it devalues what you have to say.

Buywell. Ham thinks you like the sound of your own voice a tad too much.
He also thinks you are a most odd person.

Smithy.....not for the taxpayer and what about the 12,000 crew who haven't been trained by the RAF..........maybe they can be part of the same deal as the pilots .

They'll probably end up flying desks around (not Typhoons like some would like to have a crack at I expect) which would be enough to sap the life out of anyone..

Mickey, actually a really good plan. RAF short after years of pilots fed up with pay and conditions. Pull plug. Most stick around to their 12 or 16 year points however. 16 was the legacy pension point for military guys. This gets rid of some short term excess headcount keeps them current with a managed return. They get to stay “in” BA whilst serving the RAF. It’s win all around.

USA markets start the dive after England market closes

buywell believes the next down leg is underway as Investors realize a second wave of Covid is coming inshore as of now

Politicians to be fare have no option but to release lockdown or else soon face rioting on the streets in London Manchester Birmingham Derby Nottingham and Leeds again.

The COE has extended the 80% furlough scheme to do just that , prevent rioting which would present a direct threat to the Government.

They are buying peace on the streets

They are doing it in the Northern Hemisphere so as to peak the second wave with August

Their only option to minimise deaths as temperatures rise

This virus thrives in cold conditions

Pilots re-joining the RAF is crazy.
Taxpayer pays for their training in the RAF.
Then they leave to become commercial and earn huge salaries.
Then, when the airlines can't afford them anymore, they go back to being taxpayer funded in the RAF until they want to leave again !!!!
