Jet2 cancels all holidays and flights to mainland Spain.

Flights and holidays will be suspended from tomorrow (28 July) until 16 August.

Just 24 hours earlier Jet2 had confirmed it would not be cancelling holidays and flights to Spain and advised customers to arrive for their flights as normal.

This sparked fury among many customers.

As for IAG they're very late to the party with the Easyjet and the U.S. airlines already getting their Rights Issues/Placing away.

And IAG are also still mulling over purchasing Air Europa. If they do, IAG need to reduce the purchase price by at least 50% which I believe Air Europa would accept because their balance sheet must also be in very poor health.

Over the next few years, could the airline stocks be following the banking stocks???

I've been looking at the banking stocks, HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds, RBS and they are all down between 85% & 97% from their all time highs - not exactly the best sector to have been in over the past 20 years.

buywell trys to help less fortunates

Not very common --- but someone helped buywell once

TA indicates this can now IMO drop below previous chart low

But just wait when folks find out that a vaccine might only offer 59 days of immunity

This news is now out there for the UK Oxford UNI vaccine , considered by the same epidemiologist to be the best of the current bunch in trials.

Not just Spain

Look at the stats on the worldometer website

France and Germany also surging

Ditto India , Brazil, USA, Japan and now Australia

UK also starting to make a move up tick

Travel postponed again to halt the spread unless politicians think they can get away with doing nothing .

Worldwide cases surging and IMO now no stopping the runaway covid train

IMO 90% of planes now grounded outside of desert dry areas will never fly again

Even there over 50% will IMO not be needed as work from home and fear of Covid-19 grounds flyers

Monty. If you wanna see a rights issue, see Microfocus. They lost 800m in the run up to this crisis. Expect the same at least for their next half year report.

Alaska Airlines to become 14th member of oneworld alliance.

After joining the alliance, Alaska Airlines will become oneworld’s second new full member in this year, following the joining of Royal Air Maroc in April 2020.

This decision just doesn't affect Spain. Anyone thinking of booking a foreign holiday anywhere wont now. This decision has killed foreign travel for the remainder of the year.

Who's going to underwrite a rights issue in these markets, the uncertainty for airlines is incredible.1 for 1 at 125p would raise about 2.5 billion.
