1/ The real possibility of a world no fly zone

2/ just one tiny group of airline workers on the GROUND refuse to work.

3/ Passenger numbers fall off a cliff

4/ Airlines running a massive risk of duty of care

5/ Thousands of planes get grounded in the wrong country

6/ Public opinion shuts the airports down

7/ Airlines refuse to fly on 3/4 of their routes

8/ new rules demand Int steam clean prior to next flight

“Every day we think we could be near a bottom, and every day we are not,” Cowen airline analyst Helane Becker said in a research note.

I have no predictions on the outcome of this terrible virus.

I do have some predictions on the likely financial outcomes

1/ Most shares are not far off worthless as profits will be extinguished for years, even then, investors might pay a pe of 3 for the the best growth stocks.

2/ Most bonds ( company and government ) worthless as everyone defaults.

3/ House Tiny values after banks go bust and stop lending. No one has a job.

4/ Land for food production has some value but needs to be protected.

Trust in business goes down the pan in a straight line, world trade dries up as everyone wants to be paid up front.

The only medium of exchange for goods and services that CAN BE TRUSTED BY ALL is, GOLD.

No one wants printed sheets of toilet paper. ( money

Events are moving extremely fast.

The probability of a worldwide no fly policy is now getting stronger by the day.

For starters you need a massive network of workers who are not going to want to risk their lives.

Countries are shutting borders already

Your looking at a brick wall but can’t see it.

70/30 world flying ban is now on the cards.

Airlines are basically worthless

What measures are countries taking?

Japan and Iraq have ordered schools to close - a measure already taken in mainland China and Hong Kong

Saudi Arabia is stopping foreign pilgrims from entering the country. It is not clear if the Hajj pilgrimage, which begins in July this year, will be affected

Iran has urged citizens to avoid making unnecessary trips within the country and cancelled Friday prayers in Tehran and other cities

Australia is extending a ban on foreign visitors from mainland China

Italy, where 17 people have died, has quarantined 11 towns

Greece is cancelling all carnival activities

Luck is evrything or nothing.

I've shorted this from 650p and confirmed it on this board a week or 2 ago.

The market collapse had been coming for a while, just needed one straw to break the camel’s back Corona V was the catalyst, markets just switched in a week from pure greed to pure fear.

Capitulation low coming up, luckily I sold a lot of stock on Friday, so I have cash on the sidelines to pick up some bargains over the coming weeks but it no hurry. Just a few short trades to start with. Certainly markets will be very volatile

You also now have the situation where the FTSE and DJ are effectively feeding of each others falls, as with other major indices.

M1k3y1 I have lost a fortune last few days so not in my interest to counter you but "no justification for IAGs drop".Of course there is - they fly planes and the demand is falling and the trend is getting worse. I am fully in this - cannot make myself sell although do have a feeling that many won't want to be in over weekend.I am expecting Trump or the central banks to reassure at some point though

why would you sell, this is only down 2 quid already

wait until 3 quid at least, would be my advice :)

The sell off is entirely based on mass hysteria and it is fuelled by the constant media reporting with mm's and shorters adding to the mayhem.

There is no justification at all for the panic on the stock markets and certainly none with regard to IAG.

Anyone trying to encourage Investors to sell their shares in this market, should be ashamed of themselves.
