WJ,

As far as I can tell they are the supplier for the ITSO ISAM. I think this makes that clear:

"ITSO & ISAM

ITSO is unique in transport smartcard schemes in that it covers all components - card, point of service and back office systems.

At the heart of the ITSO specification is the ITSO SAM, a smartcard device that resides in ticket terminals. The ISAM is the essential component that ensures that all tickets sold and used can be trusted; and that all transactions data is then securely relayed to the operators for settlement. This enables ITSO to operate a truly Open Scheme for interoperable ticketing of any kind.

The specially commissioned ITSO Secure Application Module (ISAM) resides in all ITSO compliant point of sales equipment and ticket franking terminals. It is similar in appearance to a SIM card and is fundamental to the operation of an ITSO environment.

The ITSO SAM is designed and supplied by Ecebs"

But aren't they only one supplier among many garth? Bit like the Smartcard Alliance.

Added hyperlinked logo to header - takes you to the IGP homepage.

FWIW I've also added a number of pieces to the SMRT thread. Recent ITSO newsletters show that the DoT are driving forward the ITSO standard, highlight a pilot scheme currently running to make TfL's Oyster scheme ITSO compliant and suggests over 3 million ITSO cards by the end of 2006.... SMRT subsidiary, Ecebs supply infrastructure - the ISAM - via their Multefile application. ITSO is just one application of the technology....

Lords Under Fire Over ID Cards Rejection

Peers have come under fire from a Home Office minister after again throwing out a key plank of Government plans to introduce ID cards.

The House of Lords insisted that no-one should be forced to enter details on a national register if they wanted a new passport.

By a majority of 61, it removed part of the legislation which it claimed amounted to "compulsion by stealth''.

The second rejection of the move was welcomed by campaigners but minister Andy Burnham said the link to passports was "an integral part'' of the plans.

MPs have already reversed the Lords' move once, accepting the proposal last month despite Labour rebels halving the Government's majority to 31. But the peers stood firm, setting up a major constitutional showdown between the two chambers.

Mr Burnham said: "I am disappointed that the Lords have chosen to disagree with the House of Commons over a measure which is an integral part of the identity cards scheme and was backed by a healthy majority of MPs just two weeks ago.

"Being able to prove who we are is a fundamental requirement in modern societies.

"We have always been clear that the identity cards scheme is being designed and is intended, eventually, to become a compulsory scheme for all UK residents.

"A central part of that process is the linking of ID cards with passports as they are issued, as we made clear in our manifesto.

"This will enable us to proceed with a sensible, phased introduction so all UK residents aged over 16 can benefit from a universal, highly secure system for personal identity.

"To accept the Lords' amendment would be to lose the safeguards and additional scrutiny provided by the National Identity Register.''

Conservative spokesman Lady Anelay said: "The issue could not be simpler: should any Briton wanting to pop over to Calais or go on holiday in Spain be compelled to buy a card they do not want or should they be able to join that system if they want to?

"The Government want to limit that freedom. We say ID cards should be voluntary.''

The Bill must now return to the Commons once again but any further stalemate will fuel speculation over the possible use of the Parliament Act to force the measure into law.

The latest defeat came as the Home Office announced that the first British biometric e-passports will be issued to applicants this week.

The new passports have added security features including a chip holding the holder's facial details in a bid to combat fraud and forgery.

The e-passports will be introduced gradually throughout 2006 and will be issued to all applicants by the end of August.

The electronic chip will contain the digitally coded measurements of the holder's features, like the distances between eyes, nose, mouth and ears.

The information will be taken from the applicant's passport photo and can be used to identify them. The new document will also feature pages with intricate designs and new complex watermarks.

These technological advances are being adopted across the world to improve the security of travel documents and border controls, with more than 40 countries in the process of introducing e-passports.

Countries like the UK, which are part of the US visa waiver scheme, must comply with new International Civil Aviation Organisation standards and begin issuing biometric passports, incorporating a facial image, by October to remain in the scheme.

Seemed to get a few buyers yesterday, I think those hoping to add at 30p may find it a frustrating wait. I've stopped buying now, unless they decide to knock a few pence off. Interesting times! ;0)

Last year there was a trading statement on 31st March. There wasn't the year before but there focus on keeping investors informed has improved over the last 12 months. Results usually out mid-May.

My SIPP contribution has (finally) processed so if you'd all just let it drift back to 30p in the next 2 weeks I'll be very happy...

Not sure about that, I'd have said the 25k could well have been a protected sell. For weeks now, it's been possible to buy more than sell online, implying that there were sell orders waiting to be filled, but I think yesterday it came back to evens. If that's the case, it could mean that the MMs don't have any spare stock/orders to fulfill, which could be good for the share price from here. But all speculation on my part. Now we're into March, there may be a few more people interested as the year-end approaches. Interesting times ahead... :0)

assuming that the 25k t trade was a buy, that makes 60k today, and just a single 5535 sell.

must be his pay day. lol

can,t see many sellers for a long time yet, just buyers, all the way to 50p, then maybe a slight, pullback, before 60p is hit. then i suppose any news on the id cards, would move them alot faster and higher, because that will make alot of papers, because it involves millions of people.
anyway this company, got a great future in my eyes.

This is strange.
I was just thinking it would be a bit spooky if it started rising again now, with almost exactly the same timing in the steps as the last move up.
And now 'spooky' posts.
Synchronicity or what ?

I have reason to believe the market may be a little short of stock, not massively but enough to put a smile on our face if any news comes out.

its always diffcult to put a price on a company like this, year end 60p would the minimum, i,ve think there will be alot more positive news flow, and lots more contracts to be announced. with a company like this, with such a low cap, and in such a growing sector, it could be alot higher than that. anyway i,m in for the long term anyway, i,m looking for big returns.

90p, there could be some long termers who would like to see that again. 50p next stop though. :-)

Agreed Taurus. With IGP's operating gearing, 2006 sales of 4mm implies PBT of about 1.3mm and EPS of 4p, putting them on a PE of 8. Of course that's all conjecture at this point. I estimate (very roughly) they get about 2-3 quid per license implemented so that implies 1.3-2mm ID's issued in the period. Given the size of the Federal rebadging PIV project alone is 7mm+ and that IGP have a good chance of getting a sizeable chunk of that, that doesn't seem unreasonable IMHO.

ttb, it will certainly be in everyone's interest to reach the 60p conversion price. im sure that the powers that be can help make it happen!

re smrt, i see that it makes no50 in Shares mag list of 100 top growth stocks which out today - mkt cap £7m at 3.4p, 12mth pe of 56.3. i can think of a much better candidate for the list!

"My targe for the share price is 60p by December which will trigger conversion of the convertibles, with the substantial share price gains kicking in next year."

That's a tough call with such a small company on the verge of profitability. My target is "above 36p", which is why I'm invested here.

But a case could easily be made for turnover of 1.5m in H2, 1.8m next H1 and 2.2m next H2, giving a 45-50% increase in annual sales. If that was the case, then with the high margins, we could see profits for the year starting 01/04/06 of over a million quid.

Of course, that's theoretical, but entirely possible, and the market probably wouldn't buy into it until after the next interims, announced in December, but a forward PE of about 20-25 at that time, and with those expectations, would put the shares at 70-90p.

So clearly, lots of room for subjectivity in the share price outlook at this stage, but I agree that next year should be the big one, if things pan out as hoped. It's just that it's easier to double an ant than an elephant (even if now the ant is twice as big as last summer)... :0)
