07/3/2011 08:36 | Bought big at 591p Far too much of an overreaction. Once they read the whole release they'll be buying in at this price. | shoobmeister
07/3/2011 08:34 | I also just bought another wedge at 606p - it is already rising off the bottom.I wouldn't be surprised to be selling these for a quick 5% later this week.If not , happy to hold. | wad collector
07/3/2011 08:30 | Aye sub 600 seems too good to miss so I have added a few shares. I see EK has been knocking Avanti recently so maybe his dim view of the satellite sector has infected this as well. | enami
07/3/2011 08:23 | Agreed Enami. EPS 57 cents v 33 cents per share ie +72% is way above consensus. Dividend up by 10%. Not the best worded Chairman's statement re growth seems to have frightened the market.............. | ygor705
07/3/2011 08:14 | Cant' see any reason for such a bad reaction to the results, except revenue growth slows in Q4. | enami
06/3/2011 18:29 | Just examined (instead of glancing at) Enamis post from above.... if those ST figures are correct, then they show a significant improvement on the forecasts... | eipgam
06/3/2011 17:00 | Two articles in todays S.T. (I'm not a subscriber to their web site, though)... Says new CE is about to be appointed from within (FD & COO are in the frame) and in Briefing, it suggests that sales are up 15% to £1.2bln and pre-tax profits are up 76% to £348m. Also forecasts strong growth... Sp mark up I hope after the disappointment dumped on us by Harbinger | eipgam
04/3/2011 15:09 | General profile here now looks good to me. I'm in again ahead of the results. | ygor705

08/2/2011 14:04 | Chart turned and breaking out here imo: 1310 GMT [Dow Jones] Bank of America Merrill Lynch upgrades Inmarsat (ISAT.LN) to buy from neutral and target to 850p from 770p following Harbinger's placing of its remaining 14% stake in Inmarsat. "We see this as a positive as it removes the share overhang and helps clean up what has become an excessively complicated situation," says BofA. Says that assuming a successful placing, the risk/reward now appears favorable for Inmarsat. Adds that both relative valuation and absolute valuation suggest upside potential. Shares +2.6% at 706p | cockneyrebel
08/2/2011 13:02 | Thank you.I like the paradoxical rise after Harbinger sell. In the 12th century, a harbinger was a lodging-house keeper. The word derives from 'harbourer' . So they were not forerunners of anything, just landlords. | wad collector
08/2/2011 11:31 | Merrill Lynch note Harbinger placing cleans up Inmarsat story: Upgrade to Buy Limited downside risk from Harbinger/LightSquar Assuming a successful placing, we believe the risk/reward now appears favourable for Inmarsat. Inmarsat's worst case scenario, in our view, is that LightSquared files for insolvency, in which case Inmarsat keeps what it has already received and gets its spectrum back. This scenario could happen if LightSquared fails to finance its terrestrial build-out or fails due to competitive pressure. The risk from this is unknown; however the longer LightSquared continues, the more Inmarsat receives (we estimate cash receipts due of $266m in 2011, $174m in 2012, $122m in 2013...). 2) Cash receipts set to balloon: potential for cash returns Inmarsat is set to receive bumper cash inflow from three sources: 1) the remaining $216m from LightSquared's Phase I option; 2) the $115m+ per year from Phase II, 3) a c.10 year loan from the US Government's Ex-Im Bank for $666m at US treasury rates. This cash should cover Global Express' capex requirements and leave the balance sheet under-geared (dividends, returns?) Longer term: multiple catalysts, but further out Although maritime remains under pressure, the longer-term picture is increasingly attractive: a) Passenger Connectivity: adoption has been rising and offers upside potential (at 100% margin) in the next two years. b) 'Black Box' opportunities: Bombardier is making live in-flight telemetry a standard on its new 'CSeries' passenger jets from 2013. Crucially, Bombardier cites operational efficiency (not safety) as the reason. c) SatPhone: looks likely to beat its targets d) Global Express could ultimately free up existing L band usage for higher value mobile use. | soundbuy
08/2/2011 11:28 | From FT AV BE Ok - people on the right asking about Inmarsat. BE Post Harbinger slotting its 14%. BE What's the latest? NHright, heavily oversubscribed this one, allocations were around 10% NH I am told NH stock eventually placed at 670p NH the pitch seems to have been NH this gets rid of Harbinger and an overhang NH it also lifts the freefloat NH and that means a big index weighting for all the index trackers BE True. NH furthermore NH Isat got a deal out of Harbinger for spectrum in the US NH and that looks pretty good NH as long as Lightsquared keeps paying the bills NH I guess we could speculate on why Harbinger sold NH but for Isat shareholders NH that's all irrelevant BE Hm. Well, there's a lot already written about the general state of Falcone's portfolio. NH yes ................. | soundbuy |
