04/8/2011 08:51 | Number of good reasons for the fall - see post 1302 and add competition. There is a bun fight brewing and higher cost services being cannabilised by both lower cost newer ISAT services of their own, competition and move from voice. Great company, expect a bounce, but standing away for a while until it settles. May be good for a trader for a while. The Global economy may just be settling into a slump (with reduced maritime traffice) that lasts a lot longer than people realise. This will directly impact ISAT. The forward look was not as bad as I was expecting but they may have been putting a bit of a positive slant on it as elsewhere the forward look is horrendous. | timtom2

04/8/2011 08:12 | Bit dry, may need to wash it down with a cognac or two. Oh well time to dig deep was never going to be a quick trade this one and a good long termer. Anyone care to comment as to why this is getting so hammered on the back of those results? | domdinizdepeniz

03/8/2011 20:52 | eDrifter, optimism perhaps, glass half full? always, however the divi and yield going forward calms my nerves and aids a restfull sleep no matter the morrow. Christmas came early today for many, and the new year sales have only just begun for those savvy enough to vacate since May. ;;-) gl, what will be will be. | domdinizdepeniz
03/8/2011 20:10 | Shipping is an issue. Considerable revenue earner and some points: 1) Shipping cut backs etc 2) Shipping is very world economy dependent and current softness looks like a real downturn 3) Baltic Dry Index - down, excess capacity and global softness. Some of 1)-3) have resulted in previous good forward look that may reverse and the market hit headwinds for a while. Waiting to add ISAT but the fall & bounce is a concern. Forward look is critical. | timtom2
03/8/2011 15:29 | Well, depending on the numbers tomorrow - and the dividend being maintained - I can't see them as anything but a screaming buy. So I am just waiting for a signal. | edrifter
03/8/2011 15:22 | Legal And General appear to be selling according to the RNS on the 29th. Hopefully they will be clear soon as the red number on my screen is getting rather large !! | mbu69
03/8/2011 13:20 | Glass half full there, then Dom? Have to admire the optimism. Personally I am looking to buy in, because I like the yield and the business case. But I'm not too interested in catching a falling knife. Technically, I see no case for buying now it has crashed through 500 pretty much down until support at 450, and if it breaks even lower, then down at 400. At 400, assuming no dividend cut, I think they are a buy in any case just for long term yield. | edrifter
03/8/2011 11:27 | Unless of course they are being pulled back to capture greater gains on good results. | domdinizdepeniz
03/8/2011 11:26 | Well, since that spike, ISAT has fallen off a cliff. Interims are due out tomorrow so I would expect that the rate at which shares have been dumped in the last week means the figures aren't expected to be very good. | edrifter
28/7/2011 19:05 | not sure if this helps... | muffinhead
28/7/2011 16:08 | philanderer - "Though it's still got to resolve the small issue of its network monkeying around with guided missiles" Right now I think I'd put more money on that issue being resolved than the US Senate agreeing on raising the debt ceiling :-) | losos
28/7/2011 14:23 | Federal Aviation Authority has just approved Iridium one of inmarsat's competitors, to offer ACARS, which is the operational messaging and clearance delivery service for airlines and aircraft operators. | tp6
28/7/2011 12:58 | Big numbers. | wad collector |
