07/9/2010 08:32 | Elsewhere, satellite company Inmarsat has added 18p to 687p, on rumours of a possible buyout. There has long been speculation that American hedge fund Harbinger Capital might make another approach for the firm. Two years ago, Harbinger halted talks with Inmarsat after a few weeks citing the very long regulatory process involved in any bid. It still has a 28% stake in the firm and owns US peer LightSquared which has a spectrum deal with Inmarsat. But a report in Forbes says David Bonderman, a co-founder of Texas Pacific Group, is now interested in Inmarsat. The report adds: Bonderman, whose failed investment in Washington Mutual during the financial crisis dented his reputation, needs a potentially lucrative sizable deal. According to people familiar with the transaction, an expected offer could come in the range of $6 billion-$7 billionsomething TPG can likely afford without outside partners on the deal. .................... Seems a bit unlikely , but you can but hope... | wad collector

18/8/2010 14:19 | I selfcongratulate on my timing. The spikey nature of the share price here does tempt me to sell again straight away but think I will wait.£8 again soon ? | wad collector

18/8/2010 12:06 | Bit of a jump in the share price after that RNS - quite a bit of cash coming in. "LightSquared will make a series of payments to Inmarsat totalling $337.5m:" | enami
16/8/2010 17:28 | I added at 683 , if it falls further ,so be it , but this looks a long term banker to me. | wad collector

14/8/2010 22:57 | It's funny when you look at the Nomura statement ; it doesn't appear to be based on any new information , just a reworking of old information. And , if you take it on face value , they are still suggesting that this might be worth 810p sometime (And I love the absence of any timescale as is the fashion) in the not too distant future. So it is clearly a bargain at 685 then! An alternative viewpoint is that those were an impressive set of results , the current yield of 3% is OK , so ignore the well-renumerated Brokers advice and await the upwards bounce.I put in another buy order ; I favour the "illogical volatility " theory about the share price here .I suspect we will be up at £8 again before too long. The main ling term worry to me here is the vulnerability to Technological disasters. | wad collector
13/8/2010 11:36 | oops. Broken support. Could be a nice bounce when it bottoms though | volsung
11/8/2010 23:16 | DTelegraph market report "....A Nomura downgrade to "neutral" weighed on Inmarsat. Roshan Ranjit, an analyst at Nomura, said: "While Inmarsat remains well positioned long-term we are turning cautious near-to-mid-term as [the] consensus in our view already discounts a relatively high contribution from the recently launched handheld service and in-flight mobile opportunity." The shares slipped 35½ to 702½p as the broker cut its price target by 7pc to 810p." | philanderer
10/8/2010 05:03 | Hi. Have the company said what capacity these sats will have. As i understand it AVN have 2 Ka band sats on order, each with a capacity of 8000 Mhz . I have no idea what a Mhz is, but 8000 of them sounds like a lot. Im just trying to make some sort of comparison between ISAT and AVN . Thanks. | colva
09/8/2010 18:03 | As you say , it makes no difference if you are long.I sat (pun not intended) on these a long time previously , but it is good to make some profit on short term movements sometimes too. This time I was lucky , but I think I will sit on my holding for long term gains now too. | wad collector
09/8/2010 11:57 | Yeah yeah Wad.... I read it the first time! Well done to you, I hope you bought a jolly big wad. It hitting 701 made no difference to me, I still have all the shares I bought at 335. I hope to see it race to over 800. | eipgam

06/8/2010 13:26 | Hi eipgam - just thought I would have a trading stake for the 700-800 range. My core holding is from 450ish. O/T Mondi (MNDI) results 10 Aug should be good - it's just short of ATH at the moment after putting on 25% over the last month. | enami
06/8/2010 12:47 | Hi enami... thought you had taken off (haha?) somewhere else. Are you looking to multiply your recent invetment or just a margin percentage... Sometimes I wonder if this could be one of the shares that W Buffett talks about 'find a good company... and hold it' | eipgam
06/8/2010 09:50 | It's very volatile this morning. I can't see anything negative in the results. Didn't have the funds (or courage) to add below 700. Have topped up on the last 2 dips at 710 and 725. I guess a few stops got taken out below 700. | enami
