Last month, Toyota issued a press release announcing that “Toyota has struck a deal with fellow Japanese company Idemitsu Kosan to mass produce ultra-high-range EVs with solid-state batteries”.

Toyota is claiming that its solid-state battery uses some kind of sulphide electrolyte which is extremely durable – though technical details are scarce. Of course, there are hurdles with getting from proof-of-concept to mass production capacity at an economic cost. Nissan and Honda also have sold-state battery development programmes, as do the South Korean companies LG Energy Solutions, Samsung SDI and SK On, a subsidiary of SK Inc. In the USA there are QuantumScape and Solid Power, partners of Volkswagen and BMW respectively.

Tbh no one really knows what is happening at IKA and that's why it is very difficult to value. Could be worth 2p or 200p. But there is no other UK play on SSBs which could revolutionise numerous sectors. Risky but I'm a believer and I think some big lessons have been learnt from the Stereax mistakes

They hadn't even thought up the name Goliath when the deal with Toyota ended. They were concentrating on sintering micro layers of cathode at the time, which developed into Stearax. You just need to look up the patents to see it. They are findable via Google.

Ilika and Toyota did collaborate together on Goliath.
GP recently confirmed at a recent shareholder question time that should Toyota do well with their SSB then Ilika shareholders would benefit.

Robert,
The work done by Ilika for Toyota was done years ago and the relevant patents were to do with what they now call the Stearax batteries, thus nothing to do with Goliath.
Ilika has not worked with Toyota since.
This is not to say that Ilika won't come up with an ssb but it won't be anything to do with Toyota.

Another excellent article on SSBs in today's FT. Toyota definitely causing a stir with its recent announcements. It's mkt cap has risen by $26bn since June. IKA worked with Toyota and shared some patents. Will be adding more here on weakness

Their aim is li-ion equivalence by end of 23' so let's start with that first, then see if they can surpass it next year.

Purely from a chart pov this should go to 20p this year with a strong possibility of 10p thereafter.
However, the chart is lead by fundamentals, and news that Goliath has surpassed its Li-ion standard equivalent would completely change the picture. In my view that is unlikely but good luck IKA. Hope you make it.

Checks latest price action & ilika’s inability to answer a direct question with any clarity, comparative stats, commercial insight or timing specifics at Q&A.. ilika should have just said ‘trust me bro we got a grant, yeah, so Goliath is gonna be great’

Well said Kenjen1. Rogk who has no shares in the company has no idea (look at his past comments) about Ilika. He is here just to pull down the share price. He supposedly asked a complicated question that didn't get answered.

Positive investor presentation. Six OEMs have signed up for A sample Goliath evaluation next year. CEO confident Goliath has USPs to be very competitive with other solid and semi solid state EV batteries
