27/12/2012 08:42 | Lovely re rating going on and fresh highs today. Chart doesn't look too steep if taken over a 2 month timeframe. | bigbigdave

20/12/2012 16:10 | Nigel - refer to 2215. Intangibles for Idox are their 'property' and they are continuously investing in / improving this property, most of the costs going through P&L. Amortisation charges are a doubling up of costs imo; if accounting rules didn't require identification of intangibles on acquisition, goodwill would be higher and not subject to an amortisation charge. Depreciation isn't added back in any eps calculation. Share option charges are added back but you should then assume that the options are exercised and look at the diluted adjusted eps. Of course, each to his own way of looking at the numbers - there's no one way. | lignum
20/12/2012 15:20 | I'm a great enthusiast of these shares, but I think it is a bit misleading to say they are on a forward PE of 12. That is on 'adjusted' earning estimates, adding back goodwill impairment, amortisation, depreciation, restructuring, corporate finance and share option costs. It really doesn't make sense to calculate PE on earnings that exclude option costs: you might as well calculate PE on earnings that exclude all staff costs. And excluding amortisation is akin to saying that the assets don't devalue: that might be true for property, but not much else. And excluding impairment and re-organisation costs requires us to believe that they are truly exceptional. I reckon the shares are fully valued, but on the Warren Buffet principal that the right time to sell a good share is never, I'm holding. Nigel Martin | gnnmartin
20/12/2012 14:10 | Investec have made three holdings RNS in the last month. They are just yo yo moving above and below the 9% level. Sometimes buying, sometimes selling so nothing material. | davidosh

16/12/2012 10:08 | Idox's revenue rise beats expectations Idox, the Aim-listed software group that counts 90 per cent of Britain's local authorities as customers, reported a 50 per cent rise in revenues in the year to October. The group, whose businesses include one that helps to manage local elections and count votes, said revenues reached £58m higher than analysts' expectations. Fatter margins meanwhile pushed up pre-tax profits 23 per cent to £6.9m. The group highlighted the strength of like-for-like sales. However, acquisitions costing £24m during the year also boosted sales while diversifying Idox's customer base. Non-UK sales increased to 31 per cent of the total from about 12 per cent last year and Idox, which has net debt of £21.5m, signalled that more acquisitions were on the cards next year. The shares which were 10p in 2008, have doubled in the past year to 53p, valuing the company at £185m. | strollingmolby
14/12/2012 16:38 | What a week for Idox! Bought in for my SIPP at 16p just under 2 years ago, now sitting on a 245% profit. Have been tempted to sell and bank my profits on a number of occasions, but so glad that I've resisted :) | m1das_touch
14/12/2012 14:17 | RP19, I'm a bit of a novice too, it's nice to pick a winner. Well done on your choice and definately one to hold for the future | rathlindri
14/12/2012 14:14 | I cottoned on a bit later than others, only a small investor (just starting out really) but bought at 31p, 39p (twice) and 47p. Looking to hold for the long term. | rp19
14/12/2012 14:13 | wonderful, just wonderful , especially as I topped up last week...:-) | rathlindri
14/12/2012 14:10 | First bought in at 20p in May last year and kept adding on the way up. The charts an absolute cracker. | chester
14/12/2012 09:49 | Base for next leg looks to be forming. Buy/sell ratios look to indicate there are more investors here than traders.....and no wonder with the future this gem of a company looks to be confirming.I am a consistant accruer here and long. | santangello
14/12/2012 09:36 | Historically Idox doesn't tend to pause for very long breaths, and any pull-backs are usually pretty short-lived. The great thing about this excellent growth company is that it's still only on a forward P/E of around 12, so there's plenty of scope for the share price to rise without it getting anywhere near overvalued. | m1das_touch
13/12/2012 20:51 | The software and Computer Services sector is certainly in favour at the moment. | choppa
13/12/2012 18:56 | Having bought at 41p (see prev post!) as got undevalued from the 40p resistance holding too long did sell at 50.37 as gone up 1/3 in under a month. Excellent company but think pause for breath will happen before next leg. Careful after good results as can drop when the excitement dies down (Qpp eh Leeson!) btw both are excellent cos and good luck to lt holders, plan to be one here in future. | alphabeta4
