Divmad,

I think you're missing the point, its just a new way of paying out the minimum announced dividend faster and gives them flexibility to increase that on any given month. No one knows yet what yield that will be, all we know is what the minimum dividend payment is. I like it because its my second largest holding and the faster they pay me back my original investment the better as there are other options out there too. This won't in any way alter the timing of Serenity, they were going to pay this level of dividend regardless. The fact that the assets continue to outperform is a good thing, if that means faster and growth in divi payments I see that as a good thing too. It by no means replaces the excitement of the North Sea assets nor the upside on the Canadian assets. Just means when they add production through their drilling campaign then shareholders don't have to wait 6 months to see an increased divi. Thumbs up.

Regards,
Ed.

Will be interesting to see the March divi level to be announced during first half of Feb. Considering current prices pretty certain it will be above the previously stated minimum threshold…

Two points, firstly, this is a good way to encourage major shareholders to stay onboard and invested. Secondly, this will deter short sellers as they will have to cough up Divi on what they borrow etc.Cash

If it was such a great idea the whole ftse would be doing it. As I said it's silly extra admin expense with little point.

Great idea I love it It will keep shares in sticky hands too A few times with stocks I have sold stocks before the dividend and bought back at a lower price allowing for the dividend. No incentive to do that now

But why are people getting excited about a 7% dividend, paid in 0.7% increments, when the bigger animal in the room for everyone, the future for Serenity, remains cloaked in secrecy/uncertainty?

Sporazene,

I don't think so, I think the special divis are now no longer needed, they'll now have flexibility to pay higher dividends on any given month depending on NOI and oil price etc.

Ed.

Good stuff to see the monthly divis here:

"i3's predictable, low-decline assets continue to outperform management's expectations, and the Company is forecasting robust cash flow generation from its production business following an intense period of accretive growth since its mid-2020 entry into the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Upon review of its corporate dividend policy, the Company's board of directors has determined that moving to a monthly dividend payment will expedite the return of capital to its shareholders, enabling potential reinvestment and improved returns during a time of market strengthening."

Because the assets are outperforming the management's expectations during high oil and gas prices they're switching to monthly payments of divis for the rest of the year starting next month. We already know how robust the NOI forecasts are at lower oil and gas prices than current, so anything that accelerates payments to us greedy shareholders the better. Since I'm expecting NOI to exceed forecasts I'm all for this new strategy. Every payment back reduces the share average here, and given the production growth anticipated here I expect that to accelerate. Shareholders are getting rewarded for company performance, the only ones that would think this is bad are those that don't hold.

Regards,
Ed.

Paid monthly, quarterly or bi- annually makes little difference to me .

interesting news and I suspect this will grab a few headlines and bring us onto some radars, which is needed. I think also sets the stage for additional special dividends, paid annually or semi annually which are realistic given free cash flow generation at the current o+g prices.

Bet the registrar's loved the idea of a monthly dividend payment. Oh and the post office for those not holding electronically. Quarterly would have been acceptable imho

Never heard of a company paying a MONTHLY DIVIDEND before. Certainly a way to get the income funds attention. Might even take out some share price volatility.
