Why not.......you should be following lots of shares whether you own them or not.......observing trading patterns, whose buying, whose selling, overhangs.....

You dont just buy a share then sit and wait for news.......you should be constantly actively watching how things are moving on lots of shares, whether you hold or not. Trading, news, sector news, influence events........

made very clear in the latest HUR RNS that every additional $ increase in Brent prices has a massive positive impact on company “net free cash” and thereby, provides HUR Executive Management with much more by way of remuneration whilst the oil lasts.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Don't take it to heart, just my wicked sense of humour.

I am still confident that we shall all get something out of this difficult venture, not sure if it will amount to the £80,000 I'm down at the moment. Cheer up, it's only money. LOL

Plenty of advice on alternatives to HUR,the current price is 2.6p if you wouldnt buy at this price then maybe selling up is the right action, the bar is a lot lower at HUR and it wont take much good news to clear it, i purchased monday not for dreams of recouping lost monies from earlier investment but for what i see as an opportunity to make a substantial profit on this trade .GLA

Brent prices up again today, and looking extremely good as Biden is about to commence his term, also, it’s been made very clear in the latest HUR RNS that every additional $ increase in Brent prices has a massive positive impact on company “net free cash” and thereby, provides HUR Executive Management with a very much stronger hand in any stakeholder discussions, DYOR.

Totally agreed, in this case...

I'd love for Dr.T. to be proven to have been right all along, for Hurricane to get back on its feet and for all loyal investors to retreive their losses.

But, frankly, if you want to get some of your money back, perhaps its prudent to change tack, cut one's losses and re-invest where the future looks more than rosey.

Given the present, extraordinary circumstances (plus the inevitable forthcoming economic turmoil in the US), you can't get much better than silver, gold, copper or, not least, Bitcoin.

..your advice to recover losses is a bit hit and miss…

Listen sunshine, Hurricane is a disaster. The money machine invented by Dr Trice has blown up leaving all those in its vicinity seriously wounded. What you and your mates advocate is that the victims simply lie in pools of their own blood, crying out in pain and waiting to be rescued. And where do you say the rescue will come from? From a new, smaller money machine cobbled together from the fragmented machinery that blew up in the first place. Have you got any idea how lame that idea is?

What I advocate is getting off your knees, gritting your teeth, accepting the pain, stopping the bleeding and getting back into the investment business by seeking other opportunities elsewhere.

There's nothing patronising or lecturing about that. On the contrary I pay people the compliment of saying they can overcome this set back. What you argue for is passive acceptance and disempowerment. Now that is patronising. And it's totally unhelpful. You are encouraging a victim mentality, in fact you are wallowing in victimhood.

Tournesol, congrats on the profit. Not taking pleasure at all, however, evidently if you patronise and lecture others about HUR, and advocate particular stocks, as I happen to vaguely follow SDRY, one can't help noticing your advice to recover losses is a bit hit and miss.

Please see the below consecutive statements taken from the last 2 HUR RNS updates (on the forward potential of HUR’s extremely prolific acreage now in play here) and make from it what you will:

“A Competent Person's Report covering the Company's West of Shetland assets is still on track for completion by the end of the first quarter in 2021, at which time updated estimates of Lancaster reserves and resources will be available, together with updated resources estimates for the Company's other assets.”

“A continued recovery in oil prices would further enhance the significant value we see in our West of Shetland portfolio.”

If you have DYOR then you will know that every one of my other holdings is in profit. Somero is up almost 50% which is creditable after such a short time.

Got any more snide comments to make about that?

I think you have previously accused me of schadenfreude - that is taking pleasure in the pain of others. And now here you are gloating because SDRY is down 16% today and you remember that SDRY was one of the stocks I bought after exiting HUR.

I've got two things to say to you.

1) What a vindictive and unpleasant person you are. And what a hypocrite. Gloating simply because you think I've lost money. That reveals your character and it's not good.

2) Sorry to disappoint you but I sold SDRY in early December for a gain of 40%. (See my post on the SDRY thread of Dec 10). I was showing a decent profit, the price had started to soften from a peak and I decided that there was a possibility of a retreat in the face of difficult trading conditions in lockdown and also the possibility of Brexit turbulence before the deal was done. I still liked the co and the management but I banked profits with the intention of considering re-entry at a lower price. So not only are you vindictive, you are also completely wrong.

Still, you must be used to that. Clearly you are not very good at fact finding and analysis.

As for the six pathetic losers who recommended your post, really?

=============

My previous post on the SDRY thread was as follows:=

Tournesol10 Dec '20 - 17:34 - 1337 of 1513 Edit

This was my biggest position and was showing a profit of almost 40%. With the next few days/weeks looking at risk of Brexit turbulence I sold today to crystallise the gains. I'll be following closely with a view to re-entry.
