21/10/2020 19:13 | Steel; 'Premier Oil (PMO) is the most shorted stock in the UK, appearing in the top most shorted list for the first time since September. Hong Kong hedge fund Asia Research and Capital Management (ARCM) took a 17% short position in Premier in July, but did not disclose this to the Financial Conduct Authority until Friday 6 December. ARCM’s short position in Premier is worth c £130m, making it the biggest short in UK history. The hedge fund’s short position is most likely a hedge against its debt holding in Premier, as investors have been cautious of debt piles of struggling oil companies, including peers such as Tullow. Currently, Premier’s LTM net debt is $2.4bn, representing a 2.5x net debt to EBITDA ratio and a 33% increase from FY18.' From Edison website | fat frank

20/10/2020 19:19 | Hur could do with a stable well 6, and an increased oil price...that would steady the ship going into 2021. By that time we will have forward plans and a better appreciation of what a less than worst case scenario looks like. Of course by January the worlds major economies will have to come up with plans to open economies...as it stands we are facing economic doomsday (see Time is coming where the focus will be on protecting/shielding the vulnerable and opening up economies. | mhin2
20/10/2020 17:29 | "We do not expect the upcoming U.S. elections to derail our bullish forecasts for oil and gas prices, with a Blue Wave likely to be in fact a positive catalyst," Goldman Sachs' commodities team wrote. “A Biden administration could provide a further boost to oil prices by making production — especially for shale — more expensive and more regulated.” | back2basics1 |
