09/8/2019 10:00 | We (long term holder) understand that although the price is falling we are now oil producing and self funding. The markets can fluctuate, oil price can drop and a world dip economically does not chsnge the fact that we are producing oil.It can only get better. | soilderboy
09/8/2019 09:57 | "Change the start date or the end date by just a small amount and the comparative performance changes completely." There is a method that should be used that gets around this problem. (but it's rarely used) I'll use the chart in post #570 to explain. You can see that if the arbitrary start point of 9 July was changed, then the relative end positions of each company plotted will also change, as does the relationship between the lines plotted. However, if you plot the chart so that instead of all the data points starting from a common point, they all ended at a common point at today, then it doesn't matter whether the chart is a week, month, a year or ten, the shape of the chart and relationship between the lines plotted will stay exactly the same. I use this type of chart when doing comparisons, as it makes much more sense and gives you a far more accurate analysis. It also allows for more accurate trend lines to be projected forwards, as the forward trend then starts from the common mean point of today's values. | wessexmario
09/8/2019 08:56 | Price action is concerning, gradual drip drip with one support level gone. We need to bounce today. | m5
09/8/2019 08:43 | Charts which compare multiple companies over a relatively short period are problematic. Change the start date or the end date by just a small amount and the comparative performance changes completely. | tournesol
09/8/2019 08:36 | Master RSI. Thank you very much for the graphs. It is comforting to see that our price behaviour is not unique. Hopefully, we will get some news soon which will halt the downturn. | the guardian
09/8/2019 08:16 | Timberrrrrr As predicted the 39p support is about to be tested. There appears to be a real rush for the exit so it might not hold. | nobbygnome

09/8/2019 02:01 | Thank you very much Master RSI. True oil price will have a bearing - and as relented in share price of other oil companies. So by comparing Hurrucane share price with other oil companies you can take into account the impact of falling oil price. In our case we also have 6% kerogen sale complicating the dynamics. My interpretation of last month share price graph is that after the CMD optimism on the 11th and before the 47p kerogen sale, the price came down from the 62p level as markets did not buy the optimism and still require assurance that WD result will not impact other wells. Next few days, we will have the assurance and be reflected in higher share price despite the lower oil price. | hello31

08/8/2019 23:39 | Steve73 Good point as I have overlooked the fact that post convertible debt conversion Edison had 2.4billion shares in issue to work out target share price. Currently shares in issue are 2 billion so there will be 20% more dilution on conversion versus shorts that yo yo around 5%. Regarding 2020 conversion at c65p, it would be a nice problem to have, but we should be approaching Morgan Stanley valuation as we should be able to show by then the conversion of 750m of 2C resource into 2P. What will stop it will be if the market worries there will be another 400m shares coming into the market and depress the price. Board should then consider buying back the share and remove the cloud from the market - but I fear that we do not have a CFO capability to manage this as he showed in “passing the begging bowl” comments. | hello31
08/8/2019 23:33 | Another way of seeing how HUR is performing compared with other medium Oil producers for the last 3 month | master rsi
08/8/2019 23:21 | BH. Agree with you 100% and the key is as you say it: “but of most interest perhaps is that both charts start and end at the same place despite the intervening newsflow!” Which is the point I have tried to make in my previous posts that despite the news flow and Lancaster pumping oil above expectations and bullish CMD, the market has not priced any of it into the share price and are waiting for LC and Lancaster EPS 6m-12m performance to have assurance that WD does NOT have run through into the 2C resource and that Lancaster will NOT dry up. Based on other pieces of evidence which we have discussed previously, we can have some confidence that the market will be getting the reassurance over the next few days and the share price will move up. | hello31
08/8/2019 22:19 | OT. There's so much rubbish on the old thread that I tried to filter Mirabeau and that removes the thread entirely from the list! | pensioner2
08/8/2019 22:09 | 20% is a win for anyone. Bulls had it if took it a few weeks ago. The whingers are the ones that wanted an unrealistic 2000%. But -30/40% instead | sentimentrules
08/8/2019 22:04 | Looking civilised in here tonight. Bears are winning so I'm surprised the bulls have any ego. | 1oughton
08/8/2019 22:00 | Il also tell you the city money view on appraisal expectations . Maybe they are wrong . But expectation is low. That's where their money is imo | sentimentrules
08/8/2019 21:58 | You can tell me what HUR is about. Il tell you whether the market is backing it or not. Sums it up | sentimentrules
08/8/2019 21:56 | In full detail? No. Not without googling it. I trade in the 38 uk sectors. I can't get company or sector specific like that. Id get bogged down in a very limited trading field I do my analysis other ways that allow me to roam globally. I follow the money. Thats my way. | sentimentrules
08/8/2019 21:49 | Do you know what an appraisal well is? | leoneobull
08/8/2019 21:29 | 39p can sense the pressure.. .it's ok for us bears. Laughing in the 50's. But when you see the likes of RealMadrid having a breakdown online tonight, you've got to ask yourself, Should these people be allowed market access? For their own sakes, I don't think so.. | sentimentrules
08/8/2019 21:25 | Where is RayRac anyway? BaleMaDRid sidekick.. I thought he'd follow up with drone armies and automatic gun turrets set outside the door.. . | sentimentrules
