I also bet a fiver when the rope snapped it's had a knock on effect and trashed other valuable equipment on the pulley system - a but like a fan belt breaking in a car, it trashes the engine too. Hence their is more than a rope being ordered and the movement of the ship recently will be trialing and calibrating the new equipment.

Yes. Also Tue midday to Thu next week looking reasonable but conditions could change.

Maybe less (perceived knowledge) is more. Considering the expectations discussed / built up v recently here, the price has held up extremely well so far this morning.

fatnacker ...911.

The buoy is not designed to be "emergency" detachable...for example if a heavy storm is forecast, they stay on location and simply ride it out, unpleasant as that may be.

It would take more than a few days to prepare it to be detached.. for example at the end of the 6/10 year EPS when it might be redeployed elsewhere (or possibly if there was major works required for adding GWA wells and gas export, although I would fully expect all this to be able to be done whilst remaining on location - hopefully with minimum production shutdown.)

Getting frustrating at present though I must admit...

Pretty much right now until such time as the AM sets off whenever that may be. Helicopter and ship rendezvous with the AM have been observed over the past 24hs which seemed encouraging as well as a scheduled helicopter flight to Lancaster for tomorrow.

Not only that, the buoy is designed to be detached in an event, if that happens will they twiddle there thumbs as they are now.

Today would have been a good day for a hook up and since the AM is neither at Lancaster or underway, I think it is fair to assume that the rope or some other primary item still needs to be replaced.

I'm surprised that a company the size of Bluewater hasn't been able to sort out the problem but que sera sera.

Pity, because nothing as calm as today showing up.
