27/2/2019 13:59 | Bocase, yes Windy shows a longer and better window than meteoweb.nl which I use does. They suggest minimum of 2m swell, plus around 2m waves, though thankfully pretty much in the same direction as the swells which will help. | greyingsurfer
27/2/2019 13:46 | A new HUR Q1 presentation out apparently: | homebrewruss
27/2/2019 13:39 | Laserdisc #41823 Yes, I see that but i'm saying was it not the GV Resolution you were thinking of that was near the AM in Cromarty? | damac
27/2/2019 13:29 | gs, it was a pun nothing more. based on the Richard the III ditty and the coincidence of our ruler also being a Richard. Nothing serious, nothing to analyse. | fireplace22
27/2/2019 13:28 | thanks steel.. So going for a third well to potentially tie in to the AM (which could immediately give us a little more Reserves) before proving up a lot more Contingent Resources. Despite being a (currently disappointed) holder at ENQ, I wish they'd get on and wrap up DC4. | steve73
27/2/2019 13:27 | HUR are not paying....is the salient point. | telbap

She is still in the vicinity of the wind farm. | damac
27/2/2019 13:10 | Personally I cannot see them waiting around if there is a chance of a hook up. Too much revenue, capital and why pay staff to sit around. All assumes we have all the gear to make it happen. :0) | mrx001
27/2/2019 13:04 | maybe Status changed to : Underway 7 min ago but now gone back to anchor | laserdisc
27/2/2019 12:59 | Sorry Peter, post ..809. I beg to differ.. There is no real advantage in doing this during daylight hours (which are still quite short at the Lancaster location at this time of year). The vessel is DP, so no need for additional tugs, and once the winch line is tied to the buoy lifting line, the entire winching & latching operation will be within the turret, which is pretty much enclosed. Also it is likely to be remotely operated anyway, since you would want personnel around with the risk of failed ropes slashing about. I agree that they may not want to risk attempting the hook-up again with marginal conditions, and may be looking for MUCH better than a 2m swell to minimize another failure. Or perhaps Granny really is still weaving her yarn.. | steve73
27/2/2019 12:57 | Greyingsurfer: Peter, you may well be right about wanting to be extra cautious etc but there is a much longer window than you say. The swell is less than 2m right through to midnight Friday so they have the whole of Friday in daylight for the hook up. Agreed the wind is picking up on Friday but the swell is not so still hopeful. | bocase
27/2/2019 12:50 | Francis: Filtered - no need for language like that Francis, it does not add to the points you make, in fact it just devalues them totally. | bocase
27/2/2019 12:24 | Turning out to be the most expensive rope in history! All for the want of a nail etc..... I think people are quite possibly drawing the wrong conclusions here. I'd be surprised if they are still waiting for a pull in rope. The first was reported as being ordered 6 weeks or so ago. I think it's quite possible Bluewater have decided that they need better than 2m swells plus waves to be able to hook up safely, after 3 failures in similar conditions. They may well have decided the risks, both to personnel, and of far more serious damage than a broken rope, don't justify trying again till they get better conditions. An additional factor is that the current weather window really occurs between 18.00 Thurs and 6.00 Fri - so in the dark. Clearly they have plenty of artificial light, but daylight is likely to make operations more likely to go smoothly. | greyingsurfer
27/2/2019 12:13 | A successful discovery at Warwick will probably add as much to the share price as first oil will.. And then the longer term EPS evaluation of the reservoir will be when the more significant rises will occur, as the REAL value starts to become more apparent. Can anyone recall what order the GWA wells are to be drilled? | steve73
27/2/2019 12:05 | Indeed hook up is the small fence and first oil the bigger one. Hopefully within six to eight weeks although there are thirteen weeks left in the schedule before we go begind so no issues there. | davidblack |
