Not the biggest of rises but at least we ended up on trading of circa 10.5 million shares.

Big boys are buying and hopefully the shorters will soon decide that it's time to close.

A good day, even if we are only 2% up.

So hear is bullish noise.............

Long oil goes alongside long gold and long industrialized metals as Goldman's top 2019 trade ideas. The upcoming G-20 meeting (this week) might prove a catalyst, say Jeff Currie and team, as an OPEC production could will be on the agenda (an OPEC meeting follows the G-20 meeting).

The team at Morgan Stanley sees Brent crude prices with plenty of support in the high-$70s (vs. current $60), and further upside into 2019's second half. They also see OPEC as agreeing to a production cut next month.

It's in the interest of both the Saudis and Russians to either freeze or cut production, says Citigroup.

DNB says there's been an overwhelming amount of bearish supply news, but a tightening supply/demand balance going forward should lead to oil prices rebounding.

I purchased another 10K GBP shares today in total. Around 40p is a fine price imo.

It’s simply down to all those sellers who keep on coming through which was kicked off by CA’s rather inept selling in the 50s. But thankfully we seem to now have much heavier buying in the last few days

Well if they were early investors taking a bit off the table good luck to them. But less graciously if they are shorters “May they burn in hell” or at least pay 80p buying back, which ever is the more painful!

Step one in our rise has to be OPEC ignoring Trump and pulling back substantially on production.Get poo sorted and then FO should send us into the stratosphere. Not long to wait unless the weather lets us down.

Personally I think moving off AIM onto the FTSE would also help the share price, but I think there is no point in doing this until the size of the field is confirmed. Could all be good. :o)

HUR is the talk of the town as the oil/gas industry waits and watches for the first oil.

Big oil likes friendly take-over so there is no one around to start a bidding war and besides its those Hong Kong 50% holders who control HUR and not the small holders who write on the BB.

Hong Kong will watch and wait............

Fundamental revaluation.Two lovely words

I like the heavier volumes that are persisting in HUR these days. I suspect the "churn" reflects the arrival of institutions, quietly acquiring positions from stale bulls, derivatives-related sellers and shorters.

It looks to me as though the shares are in the early stages of a fundamental revaluation. I suspect that any significant turn in oil prices will trigger a substantial move upwards. Not long now till first oil and cashflow! What is more, the active drilling campaign planned for 2019 could easily unlock a lot more reserves.

This company is no longer invisible and will certainly not remain under the radar much longer - if it is still there!

What do heavy volume days suggest?

Well to me that persistent sellers, who have been with us for weeks since CA kicked off this latest round of liquidation, are finally being met by heavy buying.

Essentially a better balance in the recycling of holdings from “keen to sell towards happy to buy” rather than the one sided selling of late.

It bodes well as long as the POO holds steady.

Mind you it feels like the sellers are back in charge gently taking out the bids at the minute!

If this volume keeps up might be looking at the highest for sometime
what sort of signals can we read into a 25 mln day ???

although the bid has dropped right off now over 1MLN all morning

Davidblack:

I don't think any bid would come at the moment as it would not get the backing of the shareholders who know that post first oil, the price is likely to be much higher so shareholders would not accept it so it would fail.

More likely, in my view, is a bid in the 100-200p range later next year, dependent of course on the oil price at the time.

What price do we think you would need to bid today to take out Hurricane?

My thoughts are around 68p.

Hopefully nothing turns up for at least a year?

The interesting thing about the Faroe bid is that the share price is now 157p against a bid of 152p. This only happens when a rival or higher bid is expected so I see that as a good sign of a market that is hungry for oil assets and bodes well for HUR.

This mornings price ride looks inline with the POO going up plus the Faroe bid.

This is nice but hardly makes much of a dent against the recent drops.

Much more interesting is the big volume, near 5m in two hours. It appears our buyers are now matching the sellers volume wise. Something that started to happen last week on the days when the POO was less volatile.

Perhaps a few institutions have been woken up by the fact that first oil will be here just eight weeks into the the New Year, roughly? Hopefully this renewed appreciation for Hurricane will slowly build from here.

So 50p by New Year’s Eve if the POO stays constant is my prediction.

Yeah Global warming isn't happening is it

50% retrace = 30p

I could have quoted FIB retrace 62% as the most popular Fibonacci Retracements are 61.8% and 38.2%.

But I averaged the two to get 50% being fair

YOU are an idiot and have no more understanding of Fibonacci and charting than Gary38 and that is saying something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
