22/11/2005 16:02 | Perhaps 8p, on some occasions it has actually risen on XD day (eg 16/3/05). It will depend on what else moves the market tomorrow (primarily US oil inventories). | miata

22/11/2005 10:06 | Yes, buoyant! HSBC and The Saudi British Bank have received approval to establish the first full-service, independent investment bank in Saudi Arabia. HSBC has said the bulk of the hiring, and therefore much of the costs of building the bank, are now behind it and that it is "on course" with the development of the investment bank. Analysts await more detailed information from the bank in a business update due Dec. 1. HSBC chairman John Bond said the bank is awaiting Beijing's approval for a stockbroking license as it seeks to grow what is already the largest branch network among foreign lenders in China. | miata

03/11/2005 21:18 | Having another look at 900p then I see. Looks to be showing a bit of support at just under 880p which looks like a good re entry point for those that are out at the moment. If 900p is broken then I think around 920 / 30 will be tops again for now. | tuftymatt

30/9/2005 07:15 | HSBC said on Thursday US credit conditions remain benign despite the impact of high oil prices, and predicted medium-term annual growth of around 10 percent for its U.S. consumer finance unit. HSBC, which ranks as the world's second biggest bank by market value, said consumer finance growth would be significantly higher outside the United States, led by Asia, South America and central Europe. Mehta, head of HSBC Finance Corp, said HSBC Finance had big aspirations in Asia and said the group would be unveiling new initiatives in the high-growth region over the next few months. "By this time next year we will have a lot more specific things we can talk about," he said. | miata
