Yes Holts, this has been coming ...Worst fears home to roost-----More supplier noise and the one off distraction of the Olympics (Which frankly did not look very appealing)has cost them dear.
Concentrate upon under-performing Scalextric (Sales have been drifting---BADLY?) and dont lose sight of the prize which is Hornby Trains.

But this will only happen with totally new management direction---should never have come to this---Hornby the resurrected light from 2000-2001, appears to have hit a reverse time warp-. ALL very sad and a disaster for shareholders .

You know I dont even own these shares but I feel angry at the explanation. I have worked in manfacturing and imo someone has taken their eye right off the ball. What a shambles. To have suppliers calling the shots like this, to be so knowingly vulnerable. HOLTS your posts seem to indicate the problem quite well.

I refer to my post 54 , that middle manager that was edged out by one of our genius directors is now sorely missed , the amount of product that is not available is down to un-informed inexperienced ordering on one of the major brands , they continue to compete with their own retailers, who in turn then look at other brands for sales growth , their pricing is excessive thereby turning customers to other brands , as for the Olympics , it will have cost them money as thought , when are they going to realise that it is the core business that requires nurturing , these lessons are never learnt .

The result is a statement like today's blaming everyone else but those that should carry the can.

Thinking more about their Olympic venture , as well as the percentage of invoiced sales there is likely to be a fixed minimum payment , will be interesting to see if we can pick up what it was from the accounts , unlikely , but you never know.
