Well, as you know, alf, I'm more of a fundamentalist (especially where these small companies are concerned). The chart has big ups and downs, which are rather unnerving, but apart from that it looks OK. If today's move holds, the uptrend has been reasserted, although it is flattening a bit. Relative strength against the FTSE100 and even the Small Cap index has been OK. The chart shows strong resistance between about 100p and 120p, and the share price is struggling to get through it.

But I think that's really mumbo jumbo. More important is that despite a tough market, the company appears to be recovering. Rowan Dartington, the house brokers, confirmed in November (according to Company Refs) their forecasts of 12.61p eps for the year to last November (PE therefore 9.32) and of 15.68p for the current year (prospective PE 7.49). Gearing is low (11.7%), and net tangible assets at 98p are not far below the share price. The dividend should be maintained at 4.50p (3.83%). In other words, this looks a classic value investment.

A couple of substantial private investors appear to have spotted the potential. A Mr Hugh Pearson Gregory holds 3.28%, and a Mrs A. Marcou 3.18%. I may be wrong, but I have an idea that Mrs A. Marcou may not be entirely unrelated to one of the posters on this board, who may well be in a better position to enlighten you than I am.

I bought my few shares with rather bad timing at 121p in October, so I am still showing a slight loss. I am encouraged by today's rise, and it has never occurred to me that the investment would not work out in the end.

It all seemed to happen in the last 5 mins Bp when the bid suddenly shot up to 115p which as you say was above the prices paid during the day...the finals must be good.

Something is going on here - volatile I know but the bid is above the prices paid and the MM's do not offer free money to new buyers without reason. Either a whisper or a buyer in the background. Either way, looks good for next week.

Still in myself with quite a few. Somethings up - announcement on Monday perhaps? Take-over is always a poss with this tiny cap and the CEO getting on.

Diogenes,

Hardly any trades for it to move I suppose.

PP,

November year end.

Clearly draft figures must be out and must be good IMO.

Must be 6 weeks away from final accounts?

Strange, isn't it? Doesn't move for weeks, and then suddenly bounces nearly 7% in a morning.

So Amarcou what's the story here? What's behind today's rise?
