28/8/2016 11:10 | 250 index inclusions are announced on first Friday in March, June, September and December. So it's next Friday the 2nd, with inclusion on the Monday after the third Friday in the month, September 26th. We could have an RNS next Thursday, as was the case in June when CMC announced their inclusion on Thursday 2nd June. | mylands
28/8/2016 10:10 | I don't understand why the company did not issue an RNS about the 10yr licence they have just been awarded in Romania. Seems to me that this is a significant development and further strengthens the group in regulated areas and decreases the involvement in 'risky' unregulated markets. Here is the statement issued on the company's website on Friday: GVC Holdings granted permanent Romanian licence GVC is pleased to announce that the Romanian National Gaming Office (ONJN) has granted the Group a full and permanent 10-year licence to operate sports betting and casino games in the country, via its fully owned subsidiary, Headlong Limited. In addition, the Group has also been awarded a Class 2 licence to supply software, affiliate marketing and hosting services to Headlong. The Group has previously been operating its Sportingbet brand in Romania under the terms of an interim licence, which was granted on 1 September 2015. The new licences hcome in to effect from 1 September 2016. Kenneth Alexander, Chief Executive of GVC, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded a permanent licence in Romania. It is an attractive and growing market where the Sportingbet brand is increasingly popular. We are focused on developing our product line there in order to attract new customers and grow our business." | mylands

26/8/2016 22:18 | Strader. Research time is never wasted. The more you can find out about a company the better. Go to AGM and have a chat with directors if possible. SXX is a favourite of mine. I bought originally at about 22p some years ago. My son sold at 32p and was very amused when they dropped below 10p. Local feeling around Whitby was so strong that planning had to be granted. They desperately need the jobs. Very capable board. Now about 45p and capable of producing massive income for next 50 years. Financing development is only sticking point. DYOR. Good luck. Altom. | altom

26/8/2016 21:02 | sttrader Anything I suggest will put the mockers on it!! All I do know when it comes to GVC is ignore the analysts, they haven't a clue and have demonstrated that time and time again over the past ten years. Also, always back management that rewards shareholders and not just themselves. | mylands
26/8/2016 18:46 | Altom and Mylands do you have any investment advice you could share with a chap about half your age that has been investing for a mere six years? | sttrader

26/8/2016 13:05 | Altom Not quite reached the eighties yet, so my hat off to you for your longevity! I've been trading for over 40 years and GVC has given me a return in both income and capital gains that I am certain I will never achieve again with any other stock. GVC is unique in that the total income I have received has GREATLY exceeded my investment! | mylands
26/8/2016 12:13 | Wow altom, that it impressive both that GVC have been such a reward, and that you have been at it for 50 years! | hubshank
26/8/2016 08:18 | Mylands. I note you are an oldie. Well, I am 81 and have have been investing for nearl 50 years. I reckon GVC is one of the best 5 shares I have ever held. It may rise even higher in my list in the next year or so. It is currently my biggest holding and I am sorely tempted to buy more. | altom
26/8/2016 07:34 | Morning all. Little snippet on citywire this morning, article from the FT. ==================== Playtech shares jumped to a record high on Thursday after the gambling software group treated shareholders to a €150 million special dividend and bumped up its interim dividend as revenues continued to grow strongly. ==================== dyor regards active | srpactive
25/8/2016 20:56 | Me too Hubshank, I have been let down by my entire darts team! | festario
25/8/2016 20:26 | the upside from 700p is very small, if they want a big rise it will have to retrace a little, regardless of trader or investor. Any switched on investor is going to opt for a share in any company offering 15% v a humble 2.5% or whatever it currently is. So, who is playing tennis, I'm missing something.... I am also missing my Thursday night game!!! | hubshank
25/8/2016 13:31 | They are taking it down, just like I said.700p could not be held (yet), so once again the MM's will take the profits, back down to 680 or so, reload and move back up to 750pI never seem to make much advantage from it. | festario
25/8/2016 13:25 | Lol. Can you play tennis on your own?Would be interesting to see who are investors and who traders here.I'm an investor since about 2010... | cheshiremoggie |
