22/2/2019 14:22 | Rose why not ask GFM if it could be a consider?ed a possibility in the future. Funny how you have this thing about dividends you sound desperate, is there anything you would like to share?Zoo | zooman
22/2/2019 14:18 | Time will tell Phillis if they dont import they still have a requirment by taking it back in house to fill the falling but required need it also works towards their employment issues. RE the sarcasm save it for your mate, like I've said before the dates you both appeared raises a question. As for your first point. No thank you I'd rather not. ;-)))Zoo | zooman
22/2/2019 13:51 | "could explain the reluctance of providing a dividend." No it couldn't. The Chinese mining company and Griffin are separate companies. Griffin owns most of the mine, but the Chinese would not buy Griffin, a Bermudan company with shares listed in London. They would buy Griffin's interest in Hebei Hua' Ao Mining Industry Company Ltd., the Chinese mining company that owns the mine. Griffin's 88.8% interest in the mine is actually held by a wholly owned company called China Zinc Pty Ltd registered in Australia. You are the only person I have read talking about a Chinese buyout. Where is your evidence of this even as a possibility? It doesn't make any sense, especially given the fact that the Chinese sold most of their existing interest in the mine to Griffin not long ago. If they did buy the mine from Griffin, there would be a huge pile of cash to distribute to the shareholders, although Griffin's BOD would probably try to hold on to it to corner the world's lignite market or the like. | rose_by_another_name
22/2/2019 13:08 | Phillis, in 2015 China was the largest coal producer but reduced production due to the price of coal. Given what is happening here in the UK with companies pulling out albeit Honda have said very little about the tariff deal they are doing with the EU' I'm not surprised that China is doing the same, bringing things closer to home etc. Depending on how you look at it there's a chance this could be good for Griffin regarding a future buyout and could explain the reluctance of providing a dividend.Zoo | zooman

22/2/2019 09:53 | You are right Phillis Spitfire Oil is a subsidiary of Hurricane Fuels. I never saw Gold in the title. Also when you look up Salmon Gums gold is not mentioned. Not saying theres no gold but its not highlighted for gold. I think the gold talk around Spitfire was to boost the share price You just had to see who the key people were, it comes back to Griffins key people. I say were because I traded it in the begining but never made a great deal didn't lose money it was a toe in the water trade nothing more nothing less and not looked at it again. | zooman
22/2/2019 09:50 | So the ageing memory is not too bad then... | phillis
22/2/2019 09:30 | Without checking I seem to recall when the lignite idea spectacularly failed they tried to say there was gold potential But there wasn't! | phillis
22/2/2019 09:11 | I should have added in great (ref gold) quantities. | zooman
22/2/2019 09:02 | Spitfire Oil was looking at Lignite which is a low-rank form of brown coal which has properties that allow it to be converted into oil. I'm not sure that geologicaly speaking Lignite and Gold are formed in the same areas. Cant say I remember them saying that about gold though, maybe Rose you could provide us with where you read that?Zoo | zooman
21/2/2019 20:14 | If you say so Rose. | zooman
21/2/2019 19:43 | Can't believe you can even consider talking about CEY and GFM in the same breath. | podgyted
21/2/2019 19:19 | A. Unfortunately if I say anything I will be accused of being disingenuous by the smelly one. Zoo | zooman

21/2/2019 17:43 | Griffin tried to promote Spitfire as a gold play. | rose_by_another_name
21/2/2019 17:23 | I recall GFM was once a gold play RG told me once - many many moons ago - that they tried not to produce out of the large gold bearing areas to avoid problems with the " zinc" licence | phillis

21/2/2019 17:04 | You've never won anything. "I don't care" is a child's surrender. | rose_by_another_name
21/2/2019 16:44 | Rose you are right, at last we agree on something. When you've fought certain battles and won. You dont have a care in the world. Some things are bigger than dividends.Life is too short.Zoo | zooman
