15/11/2017 11:32 | After my weekend visit I slept on it and couldn't resist buying more GAW, bought 2 lots one at £21.20, and another batch at £21.25, I genuinely believe that we will get a stinking update early December. GLA | pnetol

14/11/2017 10:19 | Off thread, this article popped up in my alert emails because the Grimsby Council parking sign was outside a GW shop. In Grimsby, disabled people are not allowed to park their cars until after 10:30am. If you do you will get an outrageously heavy 70 Pound fine. An able-bodied person is allowed to load and unload their car at the same spot for over 10 hours. I find this parking signage shocking. No wonder they call the place Grimsby. What a fitting name. "Disabled driver stunned after receiving ticket for parking in Grimsby town centre before 10.30am David parked in West St Mary's Gate at 9.30am - unaware that disabled drivers are not allowed to park in the street before 10.30am " | nod

12/11/2017 21:14 | When it comes to software games and licenses it's more difficult attribute the licensee to a region. For example Creative Assembly is a UK company owned by Sega. Relic is a Canadian company owned by Sega. Also, the licensee (the developer) may be on a different Continent to the publisher.httpS://en | nod
12/11/2017 20:54 | Nod thanks for those comments and I was talking medium term as well. I see real opportunity in China / asia with AR versions of the Warhammer games (i know that is license revenue)...but i think in general the popularity of the whole concept and player numbers of the actual game could be boosted significantly by the opportunities for mobile gaming as technology improves. Thats my hope anyway. | nimbo1
12/11/2017 20:48 | Excluding Mail Order sales, the sales in Asia are a little over 3.5 million gbp.GAW's own stores in Asia are 12 with 11 of those being one-man stores. This compares with 47 own stores in Australia/NZ (39 one man format). While growth in Asia was strong, it's more of a long-game rather than a big impact this year or next. imho. | nod
12/11/2017 19:50 | China is the source of all the fake Warhammer and some of it is very good. China is both an opportunity and a threat. GAW has been in Shanghai quite a few years and making slow progress. We opened a new office in Hong Kong a little under two years ago. From the last Annual Report dated July 2017"Asia Our four new country managers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia have now been in country for approximately 18 months. They have all reported, together with our existing business in China, double-digit sales growth. We will continue to invest in Asia and I have agreed to support our local teams and customers with more localised content and additional product formats in 2017/18." | nod
12/11/2017 15:59 | Good posts guys - thx for your time out on the road ! | panic investor
12/11/2017 15:18 | Thanks for the store feedback. Reading the last annual report it is the expansion in the US and into Asia that interests me the most. UK will do whatever it does but if GW can turn this into a properly global business where the UK makes up on 15% of revenues the share price will be a lot higher. This feels like something the Chinese would enjoy, i hope they can have a crack at that market. | nimbo1
12/11/2017 15:06 | Pnetol,Good post - you're manager is obviously more forthcoming than my local one who although very friendly and informative generally is very on company message finance or target wise. 3 weeks ahead in a 13 week period is a substantial beat especially when the 3 weeks left are in the run up to Christmas! He'll also be getting a decent bonus on those extra sales. | cockerhoop
12/11/2017 12:51 | Nod,I agree with your thought process, been to see my sons at uni, my wife laughed as I insisted on visiting the local war hammer shop. Had a great chat with the local manager. He acknowledged that things were going well, his store customer accounts are up 15% this year, driven to a large extent by the web site driving more customers into the store. It was a very friendly atmosphere and a couple of the customers , who were painting, were saying how good the brand was. Even better for us the manager said that he has already hit the targets set for him and he still has 3 weeks to go in the quarter. He seemed quietly confident that other store were also in a similar position. GLA holders. Although I bought in under £10, I added 20% to my holding on Friday as were are back to a similar price before the last positive update. To me they still look good value. If the price is similar on Monday I will buy some more. | pnetol
12/11/2017 00:52 | I was just looking at the GAW charts and noticed we touched the 50 day SMA on Friday. We have hit the 50 day three times over the past 12 months.A year ago we hit the SMA(50) just above 500p and then the share price doubled. Six months ago we hit the SMA(50) near 1000p and then the share price doubled. Today we hit the SMA(50) near 2000p and then the share price .... doubles .... hopefully :) | nod
11/11/2017 22:10 | I think within 3 weeks we'll have another excellent trading update. We had two trading updates in 6 weeks - early Sept and another on 19 October, which was arguably not essential but GAW felt obliged to make clear the implication of any additional sales on shareholder profits (and therefore our dividends). This is due to high operational gearing, meaning the cost of each additional sale is very low and margins very high.19 October:"Following on from the Group's update in September, sales to date have continued strongly. Given the high operational gearing of the business, any movement in sales is directly reflected in profits. Sales and profits to date therefore continue to be well above the same period in the prior year." | nod
11/11/2017 15:35 | Great post above 1640 I think showed that the final profit figure at year end was 100% higher than the November guidance. Same again would see final profit of 320p eps. Even a 50% hike would see 240p eps. May not do anywhere near those but momentum is strong so you never know... | allstar4eva
11/11/2017 15:24 | Valid view and each to their own. This is now looking very cheap to me at a pe of only 12.5 with the potential for further profit upgrades and divi payments to come. Also the share price is bang on the 50 day sma so this could provide support and a bounce from here. Looking further ahead surely this stock has to benefit from a santa rally (if he arrives this year). If markets remain stable it's hard not to see this rising from here over coming months... | allstar4eva
10/11/2017 22:23 | I went the other way and took some profit off the table. I am concerned about consumer stocks - Retailers are reporting slower demand | essential
