When we only paid around 200p per share these are very nice dividend yields.

As far as I can see they've never done this in December before - so they must be v confident of excellent xmas trading and 30p is also at the top end of what they pay out!

Its the same dividend as a year previously, so over the twelve month period the dividend is still £1.10 comprising 25p, 20p, 35p and then 30p. I guess we can be reasonably optimistic that one or both of the 25p and 20p dividends will be increased upon in due course.

Love the idea of a fantasy krypto currency, as long as people buy it from us with cold cash...

Save thousands of dollars in plastic and save the planet at the same time!

Mining Bitcoin is currently using the energy needed by Denmark - it's hardly an environmentally friendly alternative.

3rd eye, the MACD was green in late October and there had been a high volume of transactions - yet the share price fell to 2000 in the following weeks. What's different this time?

Nothing quite like a positive MACD oscillator to back things up - pity it wasnt there a few days ago when the price was 20% lower.

GAW Games Workshop, looks technically in a strong position to break through the down trend channel and go on to hit the last high very soon. Increased volume and a positive MACD Oscillator back this up.

GAW is well-placed to develop a fantasy currency. We already have Kryptos (Horus Heresy) since 2012. While war and destruction is our forte, we could develop a currency trading platform to outdo them all.

I hear you have heavy snow and ice over there. This will not help sentiment towards high street retailers. It will not have any impact on GAW sales but the whole sector may take a knock this week.

Yes, I think the wait for the UK Retail Sales Figures expected on Thursday keeps a dampener on the retail sector as a whole. Same happened last year."Expected to crash" is the phrase I just heard on a BBC podcast in relation to the retail sales figures.Inflation; squeeze on income; low wage growth; Brexit; Online; ... all the usual suspects line up.Online is the big one for many retailers. The transition to window-shopping and then buying the selected gifts online at a lower price.GAW is not affected by online as the price is the same.

I am also significantly long GAW and topped up again last week. I will likely add further on dips for the reasons you both state. My own view is that the modest valuation is due to a) general concerns about retailers (not really relevant to GAW but hey-ho, they are in that category) and b) more significantly, the market probably sees current growth as short-term due to 2017 releases. The broker note/forecasts also guide for this being the case somewhat. That's fine by me because there is plenty of scope to outperform against expectations which I reckon is a fairly high probability based on the mood music from the company. And terrific dividends too!

Hard to tell, the next RNS is likely to be the Interims which will only add flesh to the December 1st TS (last year contained no outlook statement). Shortly after that I'd expect the Christmas TS which will probably be more influential........BWTFDIK :-)

From this weeks IC: Low Risk Momentum Portfolio

Games Workshop

All too often, corporate recovery plans involve desperate cost cutting, without addressing the underlying problems in the business. Not so for Games Workshop (GAW). The stars aligned for the game and model retailer when it initiated its digital push at the same time as a wave of nostalgia for fantasy figurines – perhaps sparked by the Game of Thrones TV series – swept the globe. The result is that both profits and the group’s share price have more than doubled in the past year and investors who bought into the recovery strategy in late 2016 are probably feeling pretty smug.

True, some of the top-line momentum has come from helpful currency movements – GAW generates most of its revenues outside of the UK – but that has been supported by underlying sales growth of 21 per cent. Operating profits grew 85 per cent in constant currencies in the year to May 2017 and the momentum has continued in the current financial year. But still the shares carry a forward price-to-earnings multiple of just 13 times, which is way too low considering the continued stellar growth.
