Lauders- from a purely technical side, GAW made a bull flag on the chart from late Oct until last week. The break of the upper line is very bullish and although it may retest, it may not. Measured move puts the target at around £30.

Wanted to buy at the recent dip but had no funds and now that I do I am hoping for a bit of a pullback personally. Not sure whether one will come but I can't see this recent spike continuing withut a bit of a retreat. Famous last words. Do any of the regulars like Nod have a long term (2+ years) target if at all possible given the multiple variables that may affect the price. I have been watching here so long and never done anything about it. Silly boy!

So Nod, here's the question that I think about, is GAW's business benefitting from a structural change - in other words the use of social media to advertise - or is this just a cyclical/fashion up tick.

At the moment the rating tells you the market thinks the sales uptick is temporary but the company has never before advertised or engaged with its customers as it is now; and so there is reason to think that this is structural but we won't know.

Against, this is that the history of GAW as v cyclical business!

There is nothing better for the soul than looking at the GAW chart each morning. The daily ups and downs are nothing to be anxious about - that's the function of the stock market. The fundamentals here are outstanding. However, there will come a time to sell some or all.

It's important to point out now and then that GAW is not a retailer - it's a manufacturer. Here is how GAW explains its business:Our business modelWe have a simple strategy at Games Workshop. We make the best fantasy miniatures in the world and sell them globally at a profit and we intend to do this forever.Simple, but every part of this statement is important. We make things. We are a manufacturer. Not a retailer. We do have outlets in retail locations and these stores show customers how to engage with our hobby of collecting, painting and playing with our miniatures and games. They are the front end of our manufacturing business. If our stores do a great job, we will recruit lots of customers into our Hobby and they will enjoy spending their money on the products we make.

FTSE are following their rules and promoting SDP to the FTSE250 next week, not GAW, even though GAW has a larger market cap. That's because GAW weren't high enough on 28 Nov to make the reserve list.

Ah, GAW aren't on the FTSE 250 reserve list (based on closing prices on 29 Nov). So although GAW might close today above SDP, FTSE might decide to promote SDP, not GAW. So perhaps the March review.

Looking at market caps I think that we would have to go up by approximately £1.00 to have a chance to qualify for the mid 250, not impossible, but a little unlikely. But I hope that I'm wrong
