14/1/2020 07:54 | I must live in a barn, never met anyone who plays these games. Probably people who have never breathed the cold, fresh air of the great outdoors! One thing for sure is their margins are almost on a par with some vast US tech companies, in terms of PBT to Revenue they are incredible! | bookbroker
14/1/2020 07:46 | Zoolook, great results - could fall, could rise. Trading against a trend is very difficult imho. | nod
14/1/2020 07:25 | New here... and impressed with HY results. Looking to buy-in. Ironing, of course, can be distractive so I leave it to others. Which means it never gets done in time due to a constant Mexican stand-off. | sogoesit
14/1/2020 07:19 | Big upgrade on the way presumably :-) | shanklin
14/1/2020 05:31 | Wakey, Wakey. I hope you lot are awake in time for the numbers today. There should be no cautious update. The Brexit plan is laid out for 2020. Despite Trump, the USA economy is going well - better than Europe. The USA-GBP exchange rate is important for GAW. A strong US economy should favour US sales growth and the exchange rate.I would like to see some growth in Asia. | nod
11/1/2020 21:33 | ccraig69 - 03 Sep 2018 - 16:03:35 - 2703 of 3853 Games Workshop & Warhammer Online - GAW warhammer magazine advertised on tv film4 today. first issue 1.99 Panic Investor - 01 Sep 2018 - 05:27:06 - 2698 of 3853 Games Workshop & Warhammer Online - GAW Saw an advert for Warhammer on TV last night - never come across that before :-) Panic Investor - 01 Sep 2018 - 05:27:06 - 2698 of 3853 Games Workshop & Warhammer Online - GAW Saw an advert for Warhammer on TV last night - never come across that before :-) Woozle1 - 17 Sep 2016 - 20:14:42 - 986 of 3853 Games Workshop & Warhammer Online - GAW GAW just started advertising on TV for hxxp://www.warhammer | shanklin
11/1/2020 14:56 | There was a previous TV advert for the release of the 40k version of the Hachette magazine - I seem to remember discussing it on here at the time but can't be sure. The 40k run must have gone satisfactorily for a AoS version to be released whilst the 40k is still current (I think). | cockerhoop
11/1/2020 13:51 | LOL, I had not intended we discuss ironing. Not something I greatly mind doing if I have something diverting to watch on the TV... ...like a GAW TV advert :-) | shanklin
11/1/2020 11:45 | GAW is still (potentially) cheap here on a 3-5year view. If they double PBT over 3-5 years and this is on a 35 x earnings this could see up to £150 a share... Doubling PBT is in no way a certainty but it is possible because ROCE is so high and operational gearing is in place from factory and warehouse expansion. All speculative of course - but that's why the markets are fun...no one quite knows what might happen : ). GL for tues anyway. I absolutely hate ironing (feels good to have to that off my chest). | nimbo1
11/1/2020 11:02 | Here's that Mortal Realms TV Advert: It's produced by Hachette Partworks Limited. | robinnicolson
11/1/2020 10:17 | Martin, interesting. Ironing, that is. I haven't done ironing for years. I own a few nice casual shirts that have to be ironed after a wash. I have not worn them for four years ... because they need ironing. My wife doesn't do my ironing often. When I die I'm leaving everything to her, I always have. | nod
11/1/2020 09:52 | Not that I trade, or like to, but I suspect there will be a sell off on results; unless, of course, they come up with a monstruous upgrade. I think the outlook is likely to be cautious, citing stuff that could go wrong, as management tend to do. Many of the current crop remember the LOTR madness | velocytongo
11/1/2020 09:33 | Doing the ironing this morning and watching last night's Grantchester (ITV1), and 45 minutes in, much more exciting than Grantchester is ever likely to be... ...there was an advert for Warhammer Mortal Realms issue 1, only £2.99 including 13 miniatures. 80 issues in all, normal price £7.99. Never seen a GAW TV advert previously; slightly surprised their target audience is Grantchester watchers but what WDIK? And yes I do realise the first paragraph is a bit sad but the ironing does need to be done. :-) | shanklin
10/1/2020 23:38 | I remember a nutcase on this board suggesting GAW could go to 75 GBP.I think the share price was in the 40s then. | nod
10/1/2020 14:04 | Robin That is not too surprising given the TS confirmed circa 2/3 of GAW forecast 19/20 profits being delivered in H1. | shanklin
10/1/2020 12:51 | The Times commenting on yesterday's price rise: "Investors optimistic ahead of next week's interim results". | robinnicolson
10/1/2020 10:47 | Worth reading the article too, while linked and complimentary the article contains quite a bit of additional detail. | cockerhoop
10/1/2020 10:25 | Just listened to that link CH and found it very interesting also I do prefer the Oral method of delivery over reading. | luderitz
10/1/2020 09:30 | Oh good thanks chaps. | luderitz
10/1/2020 09:28 | It's available without restriction via the IC site too. Phil Oakley speaks a lot of sense (generally & with regard to #GAW). | cockerhoop
10/1/2020 08:31 | Luderitz, the Investors Chronicle podcast is also available on the Apple Podcast app and presumably similar platforms. No subscription required. | robinnicolson |
