The other star performer on LSE in 2017 - IQE - has declined 43% from its high so we should be happy our fundamentals are sound.

The last page of the Annual Report, page 57, gives information in exchange rate methodology, risks and impacts.Salaries are calculated at average exchange rates.15% appreciation of the US dollar would result in 561,000 gain in income (based on 2017 income)A decline would result in a similar loss

Nod - no, I don't think the year end rate matters the most - it will just be used to value USD denominated assets and liabilities on the balance sheet.

The year's average is the more relevant metric, I think.
GAW don't hedge their exposures - so we ride that rollercoaster.

True. It looks racy on a chart but GAW share price is not racy on fundamentals so should rebound after the market bloodletting. The dividend payout will help. This market bloodletting is likely to spread around the globe. This usually sees a move to safe haven currencies such as the USD. So we may see a change of direction in the USD-GBP exchange rate. The USD rate that matters most will be the rate at year end (end May) as this is used in the Finals for accounting and calculating year on year changes. However, this is only going to be a few percent at most. DOW fell 1500 at one point.

Certainly looks like sentiment has changed - but the market hasn't given GAW a racy rating so shouldn't fall too far.

The trading range in GAW today was huge at 300 pence. The DOW is currently down 800 and falling like a brick.Markers have been very volatile since Goldman Sachs predicted this on 30 January.More red tomorrow, I think.

Yes, that's my understanding though I haven't seen the note.

2019 yet to be updated from £55m PBT 'due to the move in exchange rates'

Thanks, good to see the figures increasing slowly upwards. Looks nailed on that that will be the trend all year.

In January Rev £206.6m strangely EPS unchanged.

Good stuff Martin!

If you look through their vacancies they're recruiting new Business Dev managers for virtually every area in Europe. Looks a big push!
