16/3/2018 21:25 | Nod : Pretty sure it only available on steam ( until console version ), so if you buy from a retailer it prob gonna be a steam key for download. Could be wrong tho.I havent bought a physical cd copy of a game since COD MW , and everything since then has been bought via steam.DbD | death by donut
16/3/2018 19:43 | Yes, it's the moment index funds make adjustments. Some buying, others (e.g. SmallCap funds) selling of course. | typo56

16/3/2018 10:34 | Going off the past ten year history, if there was a trading update in January there was occasionally an update in March with a dividend. Our last update was late in early Feb and with a dividend. Given this, I don't expect an update in March. But the art of warfare is surprise - the unexpected. So, I will not be surprised if there is an update in March. Which means there will not be one. Quite logical really. | nod
16/3/2018 10:19 | It is very difficult to predict the timing of trading updates and dividend announcements. It seems to be a case of "It's quiet, we'll do the accounts today .... jeez that's a lot of cash ...." The updates are often vague and a little confusing. This one from a year ago, suggested there may be headwinds: "However, the Board remains aware that there is some uncertainty in the trading periods ahead for the rest of the 2016/17 financial year. A further update will be given as appropriate." The share price was around 950p at the time. | nod
16/3/2018 08:54 | Shanklin, re varmintide 2 link, thanks for sharing it was valuable information. You never know when GAW will release a trading update but they did release one in March last year shortly followed by an announcement of a special dividend, I wouldn't be surprised to see an RNS release soon. | interceptor2
16/3/2018 08:16 | No idea I’m afraid! | nimbo1
16/3/2018 00:20 | Would you know what the approximate share of PC games sales is between Steam and Retail (online and stores)? | nod
15/3/2018 20:00 | 547,684 owners on Steamspy aloneAdd on all other non-Steam sales | nod
15/3/2018 19:42 | You can track sales though steam spy, second best selling game currently. hxxps://steamspy.com | nimbo1
15/3/2018 16:16 | If they are taking £2 per game then they just made £1m in one week without counting their other revenue streams which is amazing. Perhaps Vermintide 2 will turn into a real blockbuster. | cfro
15/3/2018 16:04 | Its on a forecast forward yield of over 5% which looks very sustainable, so I hardly view GAW as being on a "highly fancied" rating. And that's before we get on to the issue of the forecasts themselves which could be very conservative. | shanklin
15/3/2018 15:55 | Richard Beddard on iii, advfn won't let me post link! Games Workshop (GAW): £23.40 The inclusion of Games Workshop (GAW) in my ISA portfolio may confound regular readers because I recently reduced the number of Games Workshop shares held in the model Share Sleuth portfolio I manage for Money Observer magazine. I decided to rebalance the portfolio after Games Workshop had grown to be its biggest holding, not because I doubted the quality of the business. As the owner of the popular Warhammer gaming and modelling franchise, I believe it, to a larger than usual extent, controls its own destiny. The biggest risk is in the share price as within a year Games Workshop has gone from being unloved to highly fancied. | bigbigdave
15/3/2018 12:54 | Many thanks both; appreciated. - and it all looks very good! | saucepan
15/3/2018 12:49 | Saucepan Earlier in this thread, a per game sold royalty is discussed. No idea whether that is correct. Searching this thread on "royalty" brings up a few of these posts. Cheers, Martin | shanklin
15/3/2018 12:42 | Can any of you GAW aficionados confirm the commercial relationship between GAW and Fatshark, please? Does GAW obtain Vermintude 2 royalties? | saucepan
15/3/2018 12:11 | Yes I thought it was great to see the comparisons the first release sold 300,000 in the first month, this one has sold 500,000 in the first week, that bodes well | pnetol
15/3/2018 10:55 | That is incredible news with the new game 'Vermintide 2' selling 500k in just a week. And there is still PS4 and Xbox to be realised yet... | cfro
10/3/2018 12:27 | Thanks robinStill feel they are way off, they did near enough 98p eps in H1 and that excludes Christmas and they are usually heavily weighted towards H2. Have 237p pencilled in and no chance IMO are H2 earnings going to be 25% less than H1.Hopefully we should be getting a trading update soon (anybody confirm?) and their "slightly ahead" Jan update will turn out to be revised to "materially ahead" (as per last year).DD | discodave4
10/3/2018 10:50 | Sharescope updated the broker forecast data for GAW on March 7. Here is the old and revised forecast information (presumably Peel Hunt figures) FY 2018: Turnover: Prev: £206.6m Current: £211.4m EBITDA: Prev: £71.9m Current: £76.9m Pre-tax profit: Prev: £65m Current: £70m EPS (pence): Prev: 161.0 Current: 173.4 Dividend (pence): Prev: 120p Current: 120p (unchanged) Net borrowing: Prev: -£20m Current: £0 FY 2019: Turnover: Prev: £199.4m Current: £199.8m EBITDA: Prev: £62.4m Current: £62.4m (unchanged) Pre-tax profit: Prev: £55m Current: £55m (unchanged) EPS (pence): Prev: 136.3 Current: 136.1 Dividend (pence): Prev: 120p Current: 120p (unchanged) FY 2020 (unchanged) Turnover: 208.2m EBITDA: £65.4m Pre-tax profit: £58m EPS: 143.7p Dividend (pence): 130p This puts GAW on a forecast PE of 13.1, forecast PEG of 0.3, forecast dividend yield of 5.3 and a FCF yield of 4.3 (Sharescope data) Still looks very good value. | robinnicolson

03/3/2018 23:58 | Going back to the beta review of Vermantide 2 due out on 8 March, this game could be a big boost for royalties this year. In last year's Annual Report GAW wrote on the excellent royalty income: "This was due to the strong performances of Total War: Warhammer, Warhammer: End Times Vermintide and Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade. " | nod |
