Thanks. reached 1 million in five weeks and this is only PC sales. PS4 and Xbox yet to be released :)
The beauty of licenses/royalties is that it is nearly 100% profit. Management effort goes into making the contracts and then reviewing the development and product, which GAW has been quite strict on.

Vermintide 2 should have surpassed one million sales now. Has anyone seen recent sales numbers?

A good video, thanks but couldn't help but be fixated on the lady's interesting tattoo on her boobs UU :0))...

Interesting though that they speak from the enthusiasts and hobbyist's point of view. Saying that there has been a big turnaround in the last two years under the new CEO.

Fantastic share Robin - Many thanks.

I too am an investor, but listening to the enthusiasts who partake in this hobby via the youtube videos, it’s really encouraging to hear some of their feedback and positive comments about Games Workshop and how “they’re knocking it out of the park” etc. As you highlight Robin, the comments in the linked video and other reviews/un-boxing videos such as Age of Sigmar are also very positive too and for me tell a story – e.g. “Stop making me want to give more money to Games Workshop!!! Stop it!!!”, “I haven't bought a GW mini in years, but I want aaaaaaallllll of these” , “i left the hobby years ago after 3rd edition dropped when GW had their dark days ,but i am now back in a big way ,i bought all the new Death guard army , ark Imperium , necromunda and shadespire ,love their new attitude, the way its going they will be bringing Epic back”.

Watching a couple of the product reviews / unboxing – I’m seriously impressed by the quality of the GW products, the packaging and artwork. Very impressive and you can see why the enthusiasts are happy!

Thanks again for the share Robin +1 Good luck.

A very interesting YouTube video from Tabletop Minions "What's Right with Games Workshop":

"You'll never touch plastic that is like Games Workshop plastic"

The comments section is also worth reading. As an investor it is good to read about ex GW gamers being enticed back into the hobby.

Clearly it won't be paid until a later date but if we follow the rough pattern of last winter/spring I'd expect the next one to be announced in April. BWTFDIK :-)

He sold GAW way too early. He's betting that SG can use the internet to reach customers and collectors in the same way that GAW have done over the last few years.

GW gets a little mention in the FT.
Used as an example hobby business by Phoenix, which owns Stanley Gibbons and Hornby.

You're absolutely correct, but this does not stop the market from reacting to dramatic headlines about high street spending (both good and bad news). In the 20 years I've been following GAW it has been called a retailer, even by analysts who understand the business and are promoting the share. They do own 450 stores so it's inevitable.

Anyone treating GAW as an investment bellwether for U.K. consumer spending doesn’t understand the business it’s routes to market, its international nature, or the profile of its customers

..in short they’re wrong🙂

I saw that the GfK confidence index was rather good at end March. Beat expectations by 3 points and was the highest level in nine months. However, the press seemed to create dramatic headlines around the High Street spending in March, down because of the weather, although much better overall retail when online retail is included. Maybe more people bought their groceries online rather than brave the ice.

"The GfK consumer confidence index in the UK rose by three points from the previous month to -7 in March 2018, beating market expectations of -10. It was the highest reading since last May, due to an improvement in expectations over the next 12 months regarding households' personal finances (up five points to 10)..."

The view of The Times is that the share price decline in GAW on Friday was due to "worries about consumer confidence".

The dramatic fall is possibly down to the BDO UK Retail sales figures for March. Like for Like down 10.1%Obviously caused by the really bad weather across the country. In GAWs case many of the purchases are possibly just postponed, rather than permanently lost.
