I agree wrong renumeration for a company at this stage with a rather generous options package there too...bad non execs not controlling things esp Chairman.I would like to think that Flow will be in the ftse in a few years but don't think that execs should be paid on that basis yet! They do have £18m in the bank so no cash crisis though.

So if we come out of Europe suppose 5% vat on the Flow boiler stays.Manufacturing in Uk with US partner principal market for boilers Uk ...delivery business all Uk facing ...not sure a brexit would be that bad for Flow?

Repeat those interested should look into the value of the energy delivery business.I think the boiler will happen and take market share but I think the management have learnt their lesson on over optimistic promises.Be interesting if Cameron can shoehorn the old VAT debate into current negotiations but I figure back seat stuff for now.Dyor

Followed the company as energetix before it floated and have a look in on thread occasionally...only post when I have something remotely constructive to say.I am a holder and have added recently...I would not hold a stock I thought was run by a wan*ker.Dyor

It's obvious a more cautious approach to the boiler roll out is now policy after over enthusiasm left undeliverable expectation. The vat fiasco obviously not helping. So it is being rolled out but I think they are being careful to manage expectation better....still a massive opportunity if /when it gains some traction.Think folks should be looking more at the potential valuation that the energy supply business would command...last reported over 100,000 customers and growing strongly and the 'which' recommendation should help in attracting increasing levels of interest....could easily get to 200,000 by end of this year? The valuation of these types of company are often on a per customer basis....in the several hundred £ per customer basis ...now with a company with a major consumer product derisked and on the runway a fast growing supply business which could be worth the market cap alone and a chunk of cash (£18m) thrown in ...not surprised the price is starting to move ...even if the boiler roll out is more paced.Dyor

Just wondering when the last newsletter was published, correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a while back. If so, you would have thought, given Stiff's propensity for hoopla, if boiler was ready for serious marketing campaign then this glossy digital periodical would be immediately resuscitated. DYOR

How about a lot of good news to propel it into the mid-forties then:o)

Interest should pick up now I feel as d-day approaches.

I can only assume that while the sale price is the same, the costs are less so the profit margin will have increased. And since the kWh generation over a 12 month period is dependent on the amount of time the boiler is on and for the most part both a 18kW and a 14kW boiler would be running at the bottom of the modulation range (i.e. at 7kW), the 14kW boiler would generate as much as the 18kW would.
So the savings/FIT should be the same.
Note that gas boilers with a wider modulation range get that by modulating down to a lower heating output...about 3kW...this is not possible, and has never been possible with the Flow mCHP because not enough useful kW electrical power would be created efficiently.
All it means is that the Flow boiler will switch off more often than a gas boiler with a lower modulation in the same house/heating situation. Normally this would be more inefficient (and it is for the gas usage because more switching is more inefficient) but the Flow boiler will be generating electricity while on so overall it still makes the savings...which I guess haven't changed with the new specs...if it works ;-)

Not a good sign continuing to tamper with the boiler imo.

Link to TS presentation at Shares magazine on 2 Feb.

Looking at the Flow chat board on LSE and this one am I the only person to have notice the cost of the new boiler. The "official" reason for stopping production in 2015 was the possible vat increase and that cost reductions had to be found to lower the price of the boiler. The price of the boiler in 2015 was £3500 + vat, the price of the new boiler in 2016 is £3500 + vat. Noting Larry335 comment about drop in heating power and reduction in exchanger size, am I incorrect to say if nothing was wrong with the 2015 boiler then the company has managed to spend more money and time and have come up with a lower Kw boiler with a worse modulation range (2.5 was poor to start with) for the same cost?

They seem to have changed the boiler specs a bit (since failure to launch 2015). Max output was 18kW, now down to 14.1kW. 1kW electricity generation now quoted at 40/30degC.
Presumably the drop in heating power reduces the heat exchanger size and cost.
Still modulates down to about 7kW so the modulation range/factor has reduced from about 2.5 to 2.
This modulation range (max output divided by minimum) is low for a gas boiler...it is typically about 4 or 5..checkout comparable EcoTec Vaillant specs.
But the 7kW is the minimum heat it needs to put out to get the 1kW electrical power since the ORC tech is about 12% electrical efficiency.
The overall quoted efficiency of the boiler is up from 92% to 94%.

Chewing the cud on this - it owes me big time, and so i would very much like the boiler to succeed. Recently it has been tempting to take a position on the strength of their reduced energy supply costs, but this potential fillip could be trumped, and some, if boiler teething problems persist. You would have thought, given that the boiler pricing proposition requires scale, if it was actually a happening thing then make it easy for interested parties to see (or rather hear) one working in residential situ.

The company has an agreement with consumers to pay a fixed amount as a pay back but with energy costs falling it may have to be reconsidered.

Just a theory.
