23/4/2002 08:51 | BBC breaking out from it's pennant at 90p. The shares are hitting a 2 year high. Probably the cheapest housebuilder, trading on a forward p/e 4.3, most housebuilder are on forward p/e 7 a 60% premium, lots of upside on fundamental and technical perspective. | chuckie egg
23/4/2002 08:48 | Ape, AI. Just started breaking out, cleared 400p resistance on chart already up to 402p Cheers Ashley | mr ashley james
23/4/2002 08:32 | thanks Ashley. you're dead on with entry and exit points | theape
23/4/2002 08:11 | Ape, This one IMHO should break out soon looking at chart! Cheers Ashley | mr ashley james
23/4/2002 01:40 | mr a james, hello, can you look at my gss thread, i need an intelligent answer! regs wh | wholden
23/4/2002 01:29 | Ape, I think moves once through 3,5,8 last for 13,21,34,55, better to lock in the bigger exponential profit, than play with little bits, with big transactional charges, ie entry/ target exit point, stops already chosen prior to trade. Most (ie 85% to 90% of traders never make it for this one reason ie dealing costs) summed up as lack of pre trade preparation. Something I am realising, but currently learning, not meant to be patronising! Cheers Ash | mr ashley james
23/4/2002 01:21 | noted, but just whacking up charts at the moment and practicing. only got 3 shorts & 7 longs running ( and most of them for a while) getting better & largely killed my overtrading, but I like whacking up charts. helps me practice & interpret. ta for concern, but most I put up I have no position on, and am only doing 4 trades per week at the moment (used to be 20). looking to hold more positions for a longer period is my development stage I'm at. finding my rhythm as it were. concern appreciated . ape | theape
23/4/2002 01:03 | The Ape, Looking at your posts, I feel Auntie Mavis needs to have a chat, IHVHO careful of overtrading IMHO, IHNSVHO it might make sense to hold positions in excess of five days, ie it is probably a virtue due dealing charges/SD etc (or spread inc/ex with CFD's), 85% to 90% of day traders get mullered due same! It seems you are moving too much at a guess! Cheers and just a gut feel Ash | mr ashley james
23/4/2002 00:38 | also an interesting one for students of T.A. with conflicting signals. I thought about shorting Rolls Royce with airline downturn and defence not getting much in the budget. the price chart suggests breakout, volume is weak, RSI and MACD a bit contrary. so not a buy or sell, but one to watch if you are honing your T.A experience like me. I thought it might be an interesting live case study(can someone else post the RSI & MACD bits as I'm not that advanced yet. tia. | theape
22/4/2002 21:19 | I guess it is not over-stretched then......good job I did say i'm still learning.... | balto
22/4/2002 20:04 | FingersXXd, Sorry the glory is all yours, not Zaxx's, great call. Cheers Ash | mr ashley james
22/4/2002 20:00 | Ash, Can't claim that one - never even heard of them - I just put the chart for the previous poster | zzaxx99
22/4/2002 19:35 | Hoping ASO triggers a MACD buy tomorrow ie breaking through zero, looks likely in view todays move I would have thought IMHO! Zzaxx, Liked the RYG chart, fully invested otherwise would have been in. Great call. Cheers Ash | mr ashley james
22/4/2002 17:50 | Still learning (btw Sham, that was a great book), but isn't RYG a bit over-extended??? | balto
22/4/2002 16:37 | Here's the RYG chart: To post this chart, I used the following code: <img src='http://www.advf Cut & paste that code, changing the RYG (highlighted) to whatever EPIC you want. (sham, how about adding these / other instructions on how to post a chart into the header?) | zzaxx99
22/4/2002 15:54 | Sorry I can't post the charts. RYG is worth a look. It's doubled in the last 6 mths, has just shot through the 100p barrier on good volume, and is now at its all time high of 4 yrs ago. | fingers xxd
22/4/2002 10:35 | The Ape, This now qualifies:- | mr ashley james
22/4/2002 09:34 | been watching for a while. looks like a breakout, but it is Monday so be careful ape | theape
19/4/2002 10:57 | keep an eye on firth rixson, oversold recovery play? | velvetide
19/4/2002 00:17 | I got into WUN - fantastic share - tho I have a very tight stop at 1.5p below the current offer price - I am worried that the current rise in price isnt backed up by enough volume. | rjmahan
18/4/2002 19:15 | sorry about PYM, dropped 15p today. funny trades though, a series of small sells minutes apart. don't know if its a retracement, manipulation, or a cause for concern. I'm still long, but cautiously so. | theape
18/4/2002 17:38 | dj, i can see that you are still digging in remote places where no man dares to trade. hope yo've done well out of your oil and gas investments.you were there at the right time. as for java charts, i have not mastered them. their advantage is that you can look up various periods on the chart just by dragging using the mouse. the one in the link above also allows for trend lines to be drawn. you need to play around with it. | melfaraj
18/4/2002 13:12 | melfaraj, Hi Have never touched GSS Did buy WUN sub 50p last week Got back into FOG @ 31p couple of weeks ago still holding both still living on the edge!!! btw do you know how to get java charts from to post onto ADVFN?? cheers djal | djalan |
