Ah yes I seem to remember you sold half your shares on 21st July stating that you could see no obvious reason for the rise. I agreed with you it wasn't down to the company's prospects. They were up at about 17p and if you waited a few more days to buy back you would have made a small profit

I didn’t say I was out - if you read my post you will see that I sold half of a reasonable chunk.

My hope is that we will see a few more RNS announcements as the year progresses. The share price will hopefully react in a positive way.

You never declare whether you hold or not - do you have an interest here?

And yes, I have used the cash raised to buy more, a couple of days ago!!

I wiah I had sold at 17 but looks like a hold until 2024 as forecast margins seem to be under pressure this year if you read the RNS closely

I don’t follow any advice from you or anyone else on these bb’s! I’m a pretty straightforward old fella who has been buying and selling ftc shares for the last 25 years. I read all that I can and use that knowledge & a little instinct. Sometimes I win and sometimes I loose. However, FTC has been very kind to me over the years!

I hope others act independently too!

A hunch? I doubt the directors bought their shares based on a hunch. Pity you didn't "wisely" buy when they were 9p, you'd be sitting on a nice profit right now.

I hope you sold at the recent peak. Promoting a company on the basis of a hunch is very unfair to impressionable investors who don't understand how necessary it is for a company to be supported by fundamental financial details. I assume you are wisely selling because the fundamentals do not support buying.

Estienne, I’m not checking your calcs and will assume they’re ok. It’s possibly not too many who look at the numbers in great detail these days but many follow the bandwagon of sentiment and/or charts.

Fact is, none of us know what Filtronic has up its sleeve. The company is generating cash, making a profit, extending its sales reach has increased manufacturing capability. In addition, the leadership team would appear to be both ambitious and working to a growth plan without putting the company at risk.

There are numerous listed companies out there that have seen massive growth in their share price with very little evidence to substantiate their more than significant market caps. Filtronic may well see a great run with the share price that could be supported by something of which none of us ‘pawns’ are currently aware.

You have previously stated that I’m too attached to FTC. This is not the case at all and I have sold half of my shares meaning that I’m now pretty much in for free. The reason that I have sold half is that is that I can see no obvious reason for such a rise over a short period of time. I however continue to hold a very reasonable chunk!

Given your comments, it would seem that you have no faith in the company whatsoever. Should that be the case, I hope that you have sold the lot and can move on! I find it rather sad that every comment you make is negative despite the progress that Filtronic are making.

mesquida what do you base that on? It pays no dividend, has a return on equity of less than 0.6%, a P/E of 30 and growth of only 4% compared with 25% for the sector. What can you say in its favour? Lets have some figures rather than pure sentiment
