How do you know the internal workings of Filtronic?

Its no good just presenting Power Point presentations of product roadmaps. The company can't achieve any progress unless it invests in engineering tools that enable its engineers to perform. The latest contracts are based on technology it developed 30 years ago there is no evidence that a product roadmap for current markets could be achieved

Estienne rest assured! If there is no ne thing the CEO does know it is the importance of product roadmaps and product management. One of the first things I’m sure he’ll have done, given his background, is looked at company product roadmap plans and reset those on 10 year strategic path, if he felt that necessary. New Product Development (NPD) is the future beating heart of Filtronic and he well understands that.

I think FTC have exposure to some nice future markets and should do well. Only point of concern is that they seem overweight in manufacturing staff compared to other areas of the business for a technology company.

Edison work for Filtronic and always will give a positive note. Its nothing to go on. I can't see this going anywhere without investment in new products

From the Edison intro:

“Our estimates, which we recently upgraded following the recent post-close update, show this strategy supporting continued revenue growth in FY22 and FY23.”

The overall tone of the report would appear to me to be very positive and, in simple terms, confirms that the management team are delivering. Whether the share price stalls is another matter completely. I’m often quite bemused by the disconnect between actual performance & share price The market often overreacts both ways!

Anyhow, I’m very happy to hold firm.

The Edison note has a reduced EBITA in the current FY 22/23 with slightly higher turnover, then increasing there after. Suggests to me the share price rise is likely to stall now for a few months.

I just googled that Baz & EW is forecast to be $20bn+ by 2025. A critical component supplier into that market sounds good to me!
