Well I took the plunge and bought another 6200 shares @ 421p - all I could afford. It would have been more but all I have to play with at the moment. Agree this is a silly situation and happy to be patient for the real value to be reached.

Currently have about 102,000 shares. I've had more in the past but wary of having too many eggs in one basket so to speak, but this is one basket I'm happy to have a load of eggs in!

Obviously there are risks, many which I have previously highlighted and a few that haven't yet gone away.

Good luck all. Been here, in and out, since about 2008 and keeping the faith.

Its the business model which attracts me. They are very clever with financing acquisitions and forward pricing of sales. There is plenty detailed analysis on the ADVFN DEC board.

I have been an investor for a few years now, starting small as I was initially suspicious that such a high dividend came in the 'too good to be true' category. The business model has been the same for some years, and there have been no hiccups. The short to medium term outlook (probably longer) outlook for gas is also good at present, as the anti oil lobby is strong, gas is greener, and something has to power all the construction to go renewable, and to fill the gap until the promised green revolution is a reality.

There is also the prospect of a US listing, which would probably be a kicker for the SP,but it is really the dividend I am in it for. The share price is also reasonably volatile, providing opportunities for topping up at favourable prices if one is patient, and even for a bit of trading in and out.

If you identify a fly in the ointment which I have missed, do let me know!

Red day for FXPO, but the iron ore price, and pellet premium, jumped today. Overall a big leap from $308.70 to $320.20 per tonne.

Nearly back to May's peak price of $329.70, having dipped to $277.80 in the meantime.

I'm buying more FXPO tomorrow. Trading on a P/E of under 2 at these iron ore pellet prices.

Hi 1knocker, what's your overview of dec. Nothing stands out on the financials for me?

Entirely agree Thags.
With FXPO one just has to be patient and wait until they are silly money. It is not so many months ago they were well under 200, and not all that many years since I picked up tranches at 56 and then 26. Happy days!
PS While you are waiting, have a look at Diversified Energy, which I regard as a FXPO without the Swiss withholding tax.

Thags - no news here, this screams fear selling and time for any medium/long term holders to top up, don’t like averaging down but I’ve made exception here. Like you say 20% drop from a new high seems like a panic sell off to me. Some have sold pre ex dividend with the intention of buying back, doesn’t make sense to me but each to there own.

this is a typical fxpo movement. losing nearly 20% from recent highs over no news whilst generating silly levels of cash at over $300 per ton. I'm looking to load up my swing trade account just waiting to find support, fibs been smashed next up 100MA at around 400. unless there is some major news I've missed like an imminent russian invasion

Happens all the time now. Better selling a couple of days before ex divi and buy on ex divi day.

JP2011 - If your intentions were to keep fxpo then surely the logical thing to do would be to take the divi and add on the dip? Save money on the commission and stamp duty, there’s no guarantee on the next days open price. The market is so volatile at the moment.

A lot of people hold for the divi, the movement is people betting the ex div price falls below the div amount. Genel is a good example where you're better off selling pre ex div and then buying back in a week or two later.

Renewed efforts by China to rein in commodity prices, I think.

So what are peoples predictions on closing price tomorrow. I have a suspicion many have sold up prior to ex dividend date in order to rebuy in saving the wht %
I see it hovering around the 450 level tomorrow. 65% pellets still above $300 a tonne. Results should be good 4th August

get ex-divi date out of the way and see where iron ore price goes. but this is throwing off huge amounts of cash now.

Looks like I was wrong. Another week of consolidation!

Agree Thags, next results (H1 2021) will be amazing, and should ignite the share price.

I don't see fxpo moving up now until after half year results. Investors appear to want something epic before buying this one. It does appear to be consolidating nicely at the 450 level establishing strong support. Next results will hopefully open up a few more eyes to the bargain it still is and we will continue to pick up healthy dividends in the meantime. I do hope they pay down debt completely before resuming dividends as some who don't follow the stock will still point to 200 mil+ debt without realising the cash balance

Ta for the links Ted and BB. I have a feeling we'll see £5 this week, even with XD (13.2c) on Thursday.

Regarding further dividends in 2021, I don't think there are any insurmountable hurdles. Agree with Ted that any residual debt could be paid off if the lenders don't play ball. I understood distributable reserves as being the retained earnings on the balance sheet - over $2bn - so that should be fine.

In other companies, sometimes in order to create distributable reserves they'd cancel the share premium account. This I believe is the routine high court meeting that Ted refers to.

I might have misunderstood this. If anyone can clarify, please do :)
