22/3/2022 09:18 | All the signs are Putin is losing the war in Ukraine. Even Russia says over 9,600 of their soldiers have been killed (Ukraine says the figure is nearer 14,000) with around 11,000 injured. Not only are these figures huge, the ratio of killed/injured suggests there is virtually no battlefield medical care on the Russian side. Meanwhile the sanctions are ratcheting upwards with even the Germans reviewing their long term gas and oil strategy. This will take longer to bite but there is no going back. The vast majority of Russia’s currency reserves are held in the west and, like the current Afghan government, they will now find these impossible to access. (Afghanistan is collapsing.) There will be no serious move away from the dollar, or towards crypto. Russia will become North Korea. It is only a matter of time. The best outcome for investors here, IMO, is that the resource rich parts of Russia see what is coming and break away to form independent nations. Clearly none of this is likely to happen quickly. I reckon five or ten years before trading resumes here, if it ever does. | the millipede
21/3/2022 21:14 | HMG better watch they don’t end up in court again. The Iranian sanctions cost them a lot of money | robizm
21/3/2022 19:44 | Lol obviously it will be regulated. Just waiting for the yanks to get over their stalling tactics. Bit of research beyond the sheep pen and you will see whats happening. | tidy 2
21/3/2022 19:10 | Unregulated blockchain - surely only in the flat earth believers minds this would ever happen | supercity
21/3/2022 18:34 | Economic warfare The big picture is to abandon the antiquated SWIFT payment system and switch to blockchain, Ripples on demand liquidity solution technology They need a catalyst to bring it all on line so the swift system can be switched off as a matter of the old national security narrative. The world reserve currency dollar is coming to an end and due to be replaced using Ripples XRP native crypto token The switch is in motion and EVR it seems is caught in the net until the changeover is complete | tidy 2
21/3/2022 17:17 | That is an extraordinary announcement. It appears that the treasury's action in making it impossible for the company to pay the coupon on it's bonds, despite all it's efforts to do so, will put the company into default ! | gfrae
21/3/2022 15:27 | We knew this ages ago as they issued an RNS. | robizm
19/3/2022 21:02 | We are being played. The end game is for a cashless society. | donald t
19/3/2022 11:16 | In 2008, Nato promised Ukraine 'full membership'. The Russians said don't think about it. The West carried on building up Ukrainian armed forces and armaments in full knowledge that Russia was supporting the conflict in Donestk and Luhansk. Minsk Agreement was signed to bring an end to conflict in eastern Ukraine. The fascists in Ukraine wouldn't accept it and carried on killing pro Russians. 15,000 pro Russians are killed. Germany and others came up with Minsk 2. Still no change. Putin finally has enough and makes plans for intervention/invasio As of today, neither Nato or Zelensky talk about 'full nato membership' anymore. Thousands killed for what? Putin has already succeeded in his first objective and will succeed with his other objectives aswell. Sanctions will do nothing to alter the facts on the ground. | coscos

18/3/2022 11:11 | Done it. I tried opening the privacy statement, not just ticking that I'd read it, and when I went back to the petition page it worked. One reason to sign is to get on the email list. | zangdook
18/3/2022 11:08 | thanks. there's no effect at all when I click. | zangdook
18/3/2022 11:02 | It just says your vote has been logged or something to that nature. | gaffer73
18/3/2022 10:21 | Well, I imagine the answer is that there was populist pressure to slap Abramovich so they picked a company he had a large holding in and used that as the basis of their imaginative narrative. There's no fundamental reason to suspend companies he holds shares in; either they accept he doesn't control EVR and it's de-suspended or they obfuscate. My bet is on obfuscate. Perhaps it's naive but I don't see the harm in having a petition sent to the FCA. | zangdook
18/3/2022 10:21 | I think it's as much a show of support to the board that we sympathise with their difficult position as it is trying to overturn the government's decision (not likely) & it's for that reason that I've signed. | lukeferrari08
18/3/2022 10:14 | "If that is the problem then every company in which he holds shares would need to be suspended, even if he only has a small number." Who knows. Clearly the govt is just doing its best with the information it has, without wanting to disrupt everyone’s pension funds in the process. My advice would be to lie low for a while. I can’t see shareholders in a Russian steel company getting a sympathetic hearing right now. In fact, drawing attention to yourselves is likely to make things worse IMO. | the millipede
18/3/2022 09:51 | It's like Chelsea supporter having a petition. What does it say? Dear HMG, We just want to make money and are sorry we didn't know Abramovich stole the Russian natural resources that we invested in. And was allowed to keep his gains by allying with Mr Putin. Can we please have our money back at preferable 5x the price we invested last week. | officerdigby
18/3/2022 08:03 | still no good for me. What happens after you click continue, do you get a new page saying thanks? | zangdook
18/3/2022 07:58 | Yeah, we'll all have our accounts frozen for supporting Putin's war! | gaffer73 |
