Nonsense - the company isn't majority owned by anyone and todays rns shows they are distancing themselves.Should resume trading again next week once clarity has been given.

The company will presumably continue as a successful Russian company with dividends paid in unconvertible rubles and delist from the LSE.

So Mr Lavrov - Russia has not attacked Ukraine and you have not got , or know anyone who has got , shares in Evraz . Glad we cleared that up.

Tiger. I’m going out on a limb here, but I am guessing you have zero idea of the inner workings of EVR and your limited knowledge is based solely on the shareholder register.

I’m not defending anything Russia has done but didn’t the bomb land outside the hospital (and make a massive crater).

Injured 17 according to reports hours ago and no mention of deaths.

Was there anyone actually in there as those figures don’t suggest it.

The clarification offered by the company is so much BS.
Evraz is and always has been Abramovich's company. In reality, he has always held total control over it.
I expect the remaining non-Russian directors to resign tomorrow. They can't possibly stay on given that RNS.

crikey hooded...'the stock market is not for me'.

A bit late for that.
I do ok but sometimes get a bloody nose.

I have spells of thinking I am the Worlds smartest investor.

Think you'll find that this is a Russian tactic by using unguided rockets and Thermobaric rockets to basically carpet bomb civilian areas. They did it in Crimea, Georgia, Syria and now Ukraine. It's a method of destroying morale and infrastructure. The fact they are using thermobaric and cluster bomb weapons on civilians means he is now being investigated for war crimes as this warfare goes against international law. Everything that Putin does is deliberate.

Careful, it has been suspended pending clarification and I think they have done a very good job of that. Maybe the stock market is not for you ?

I suppose a possible course of action for those holding shares is that the company decides to use the divi money to buy back all shares held by non Russians - 1/3rd of the issued capital at $1 per share and then transfer it to the Moscow market. They at least get something back just not the hoped for big recovery.
It would be doable under the sanctions as it is money going out of the company to non Russians so could be allowed as an exception. Just a meandering thought that's all.

I have written off my investment here.
I accept that I may have lost, not for the first time.

...but a little part of me thinks or hopes it could come good.

A real gamble....when the fun stops, stop.

Hope this war does not get serious.

Russias army is powerful but not that much larger than the Ukraines in numbers of soldiers.
And Ukraine is recruiting urgently.

If the Ukrainians fight really hard it will become a bloodbath.
It is all talk at the moment, modest casualties.
But Russia has more high tech equipment that it will be tempted to use if it gets bogged down.

We need to offer Putin a face saving solution before it really gets started.
After 3 weeks there is still time.
I still think a deal will be done.
I would hate Russia to start in earnest to crush civilian areas not bothering about casualties.

Actually, Careful, there's a lot of evidence that the Russians used the bombing of hospitals as a deliberate terror tactic in Syria. So the atrocity in Mariopol is probably deliberate and just a continuation of that approach.
You took a wild punt on a company controlled by a Russian oligarch with a well-known past and you lost - accept it. I seriously doubt Evraz will ever trade in London again.

I doubt that they meant to bomb a hospital full of children.
What the Americans called collateral damage in Bagdad.

The bombing of Dresden at the latter stages of WW2 had no strategic significance and killed 25,000 civilians, many of them women and children.
We should not waste time discussing Hiroshima, 250,000 dead, or Vietnam 500,000 dead.

War is a disgusting thing.

The aged old propaganda tricks are being used yet again to work up public opinion and prepare them for the upcoming hardships.

Yet the Ukrainian right wing President refuses to make any concessions and is quite prepared to see his citizens killed.
He also wants to get Western military involved, high risk.

Boris even dusted down Blairs chemical weapons fear yet again, always worth a try.
We know Boris is a man of great integrity and honesty, so it must be true.

Putin's forces bombed a hospital full of children. I'm not sure any rational person would argue there's a "debate" here.
