14/3/2022 10:28 | Brlliant.. 'failing to condemn the Russian Government'. Why the hell does it need to do that. Its a company manufacturing steel etc.... The media frenzy of anything Russian continues. Last year COVID, this year Russia, next year.. anything that deflects away from the Governments awful track record. | sapper2476

14/3/2022 07:42 | From "Energy mix" WEASEL WORDS’ But that won’t be enough to stop the company’s slide, King said. “Friday morning’s boardroom exodus rather suggests that, despite the company’s best efforts to distance itself from Abramovich, it recognizes that the game is up,” he wrote. “Evraz has not done itself any favours by failing to condemn the Russian government unequivocally for its invasion of Ukraine—someth King said the “weasel words” in the company’s latest statement “point to a reluctance at the company to antagonize the Russian president.” The probable next step, delisting Evraz from the London Stock Exchange, “would crystallize big losses for clients of a number of well-known institutional shareholders in Evraz that include Schroders, BlackRock, Vanguard, and Pictet Asset Management,” he added. 14/3/2022 02:53 | Vladimir Putin: Good, thank you. Here is what I would like to point out, and it is something we have said many times before: we are not going to cut anyone off. We are open to working with all our partners, our foreign partners who want this. In this context, the rights of our foreign investors and colleagues who have decided to stay in Russia and are working in Russia must be securely protected, and I am asking the Government to keep this in mind. | zangdook

13/3/2022 11:08 | I think it's important for investors, myself included to mentally write the money off here. Treat it as a bonus if they ever return from suspension. I should have known better but fortunately is only 1% of my wealth. Onwards and upwards | basem1
13/3/2022 10:37 | The sooner this despotic excuse that cannot even bring itself to criticise Putin war is booted off the stockmarket and delisted the better. | my retirement fund
12/3/2022 16:33 | Value is notoriously difficult to unlock in a privately owned company especially in minority holdings. Yes you still own shares if delisted but what would they be worth if you could even sell them. Shareholders will need to hold tight and view any holding they have as a long term investment in the hope of getting a decent return unless they sell immediately when the suspension is lifted and buy back at a lower price. | scrwal
12/3/2022 14:49 | No one. It is important to know, however, that in event of a delisting, shareholders will still own their shares. If it does happen many might not feel terribly comfortable owning part of a privately owned Russian company, but I would say as a long term bet, not necessarily a disaster. Potentially the opposite. The real problem comes if Putin seizes the assets, and so far he is talking only about assets abandoned by western companies. Clearly Evraz doesn’t fit in that category. For now, no shareholder can do anything about this anyway. | the millipede
12/3/2022 14:40 | Who in the government or financial authorities has given any indication of delisting the company. | scrwal
12/3/2022 14:21 | Suspended indefinitely is cancelled by my reading probably better as this was only a woke response by the company on concerns of owning a coal miner. This is now the last thing on their mind at present better to keep ownership of the coal mines. | wskill
12/3/2022 13:30 | As far as I'm concerned, unless the government provides evidence of their claims against EVRAZ, then they will be open to legal challenge. Under UK listing rules, Abramovich does not control the company, therefore suggesting a company should be delisted because one of its shareholders is a 'friend' of Putin is outright ridiculous. How is it possible to quantify the relationship between 2 people at any given time? I think the UK is moving very quickly towards Russophobia. Anyone else read Lebvedev's article in the standard yesterday? It's shameful that in 21st century Britain, people still need to validate themselves because of their name or heritage. Who knows what will happen with EVRAZ? One thing's for sure though, I think the company lawyers will be reading the sanctions regulations in minute detail. | coscos
12/3/2022 13:19 | There will be a class action if there are enough US holders. (No holdings; on my watch list). | alphorn
12/3/2022 13:11 | The problem for EVR is that 2/3rds of the shares are controlled by Russians. Abramovich had already stated when news of him selling Chelsea became known that he was forgoing his loans and that all net proceeds were to be used towards helping Ukraine ( via a trust I believe) so he was not getting a single penny from the disposal. Whilst it would be nice for shareholders to have the suspension lifted what are the expectations as to the suspension lifted now or later when the Ukraine issue has been settled. My take is that the sell off prior to suspension will be ramped up if lifted soon with a recovery later compared to a later lifting where the outlook is more certain and a possible minimal drop. | scrwal
12/3/2022 12:47 | It's pretty clear the government didn't look to see who supplies steel for tanks and then sanction them, they just wanted to get Abramovich because it would get them some headlines, so they made up a bunch of nonsense about tanks. It doesn't really matter if he only had one share and the company actually made chocolates, they'd make up some lies just the same. And yes, if Abramovich is an oligarch (he isn't, by the dictionary definition) then so are Rupert Murdoch and Bill Gates. | zangdook
12/3/2022 12:33 | I am sure that Evraz is not the only holding for RA. At what level does the company get suspended - 30% (yes), 20% (?), 5% (??). Lawyers will do well. | alphorn |
