01/7/2005 21:51 | Evening........ at the risk of teaching expert "grannies" to suck eggs............. can I refer back to the original post this evening by Pete3102..... In relation to Arrow or Rutronik as suitors for ELH, he used the phrase.... "I can confirm"......... On what basis "can he confirm"? Hopefully, for me, at any rate, he might explain WHY he "can confirm". Does he have specific info and, if so, what is the source?? I think he needs to explain this and I'm sorry if people think I'm being pedantic. How is it he can say this?? Regards all.... from someone a bit mystified in the absence of any explaination. | dyfiman
01/7/2005 21:22 | What I'm hoping for is that we are part of the new company and eurodis (or the new merged company) retains a quote. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 21:20 | what would be very interesting would be Retronik mering with eurodis ... say calling themselves Rutronik Eurodis..... having a quote here in the LSE (and may be in Germany)....restruct Almost instantly, the merged company would be profitable, have £500m of turnover and the rationalisation would produce even more profits. I can see institutions falling over themselves wanting to get slice of the new company. Seems plausible i think. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 21:00 | Distribution centre.. | momentos
01/7/2005 20:59 | momentos... they could do with an increase of £200m in sales in no time.. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:49 | Evening Guy's and girls, just back from euroland - just caught up with all the posts...so many, I thought something substantial may have taken place...alas. I really do hope it's Arrow - I'm with Chian on this one - rerating should push us into double pence in no time. Good weekend all. | jordaggy
01/7/2005 20:47 | Why Rutronik weould like Eurodis: A nice little distribution centre in Holland probably wouldn't go amiss. But the map says huge overlap. They have grown a lot without acquisition, do they need Eurodis? | momentos
01/7/2005 20:44 | I think its Rutronik. If it were WPG, they would've announced it on their stock exchange (at least state that they were looking into merging with an unamed firm.... just like Eurodis were obliged to do here). | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:41 | WEll, WPG and Rutronik seem to be peoples favourites. WOnder what Abacus think of the idea of Rutronik taking over Eurodis?! | momentos
01/7/2005 20:26 | cheers... thats where the comment abount moving to higher margin lines comes in i guess. higher sales doesnt always mean increased profits | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:23 | I think it was saying the alliance would help it develop as more of a niche player, with certain specialisms. Unless you can interpret technischer Spezialdistributor otherwise! | momentos
01/7/2005 20:19 | will try that.... that last sentence... is it effectively saying that their alliance with ATeG (Inteltek) should help them recover sales in Germany ? | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:14 | If your researching, its always worth trying a few of the international Google / Yahoo sites: google.de, .it. fr .com.tw .com.sg etc. Luckily I have a good knowledge of French and a working knowledge of German so you can get the jist of many languages. My chinese is not too hot though, leave the Nan-king Road to Chiansaw I think! Google news is always news.google.de etc. Then get yer translator going! You do get different results.... | momentos
01/7/2005 20:09 | translation of the last paragraph from that link you provided : Clear losers of the yearly 2004 were like already 2003 Eurodis and Betronik. Both enterprises had to book again clear turnover losses. While with Betronik (-10.8% on 58 millions euro) obviously the dependence on some big customers, who shifted their production line, settled, not least the general disconcertion might have been with decisive over the future firm politics with Eurodis (-34.8% on 58 millions euro). After already 2004 important manufacturers terminated like linear Technology the partnership of many years with Eurodis, in the meantime with a Philips's further large semiconductor manufacturer quit co-operation. By co-operation with the RK EEC alliance (represented in Germany by the Ineltek GmbH) within the ranges marketing and logistics might medium-term also Eurodis toward "technical Spezialdistributor" develop. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:05 | Ah, I see the red wavey type logo thingy for Astec in your header now. Bit of a give away really. | momentos
01/7/2005 20:03 | it isn't, the date came up when I searched for Eurodis on that site. | momentos
01/7/2005 20:02 | where is the date stated in the article ? by the way, they still have the Astec franchise. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:01 | thanks for your feedback pete. I think you might be right. I suspect its a private company (Rutronik may be). After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that if the other party was a company listed on a stock exchange then by law they would have been obliged to announce that they were in talks as it was price sensitive information. Neither Arrow or WPG have made any sort of announcement so with that in mind its most probably a non-quoted independent distributor - which wants to merge with Eurodis and, hopefully, have a quote on the LSE. | ed winchester
01/7/2005 20:01 | doh! 26th May...... 2003. Read the 26 May & got all excited. Sorry! | momentos
01/7/2005 19:58 | momentos, what date is that article (8127) | ed winchester
01/7/2005 19:57 | Good man, not sure about the (trans) lactation though. Tried it after the missus gave birth but tasted a bit ropey. | momentos
01/7/2005 19:51 | .deleted very old news (bit like Olivers really) | momentos |
