08/7/2005 13:11 | Acal reported a pre-tax profit of £8.3m for the twelve months to March, down from the £9.0m seen last year, while turnover fell 3% to £260.7m against £268.4m a year earlier. The group is hoping for further consolidation in the Electronics Components sector adding that it expects to play an active part in the process. "Geographically we have our roots in Western Europe but have a strategically important investment in the Far East," said Acal. Finance director Jim Virdee added that there were no specific acquisition plans at the moment, though he noted that Acal's usual targets are fairly small additions that would add a new product line to the operations. The dividend for the year goes up 3% to 21.6p from 21.0p previously. | c1ty whispers | |
