yep ... so thats people dying WITH Covid not OF Covid.

Average age of covid death within 28 days of testing positive is 82.4 years old.
If a person dies of suicide or from a car crash within 28 days of a positive test then it's still counted as a covid death.

With the average age of 'Covid' death being 82.4 I put it to you that most died of other causes , eg, natural causes.

For those who are healthy and are aged under 65 , the total number of deaths SINCE MARCH is 365 deaths !

The whole thing is a complete farce and is probably due to politicians worldwide being gripped by fear of what could theoretically happen.

On the other side, I sadly read of an 84 year old lady who hung herself last week. She hung herself because she could no longer bear not being able to see her Grandchildren. These are the people we are told we are doing all this for. Has anybody asked the over 80's whether they wish to be locked in, or would they rather choose how they live out what time they have left.

Mallorca, I don’t think you understand the maths. If we let the virus spread unchecked then even if you assume the fatality rate is 1% (at the lower end of the range of estimates), you would end up with 68m x 0.01 = 680,000 deaths. No government is going to sanction that outcome are they?

Taurus,

life is pretty normal here. Almost all say that if they didn't watch the TV news they wouldn't even know there was a virus.
Even in the 'hotspots' the cases rate in circa 0.5% ! Of those 80% have no symptoms.
It's a complete farce.

Not yet the mms have to try and keep people interested, which must be getting more difficult because they are staying with their cash.

I do live in the North and I don't know anybody who has died of covid and neither do any of my friends or neighbours. Most of those who have died (average age 82.4) have died of what we used to call 'natural causes'.
My next door neighbour is a nurse.
She has told me that she is embarrassed by all the praise and clapping because at work most of the nursing staff are standing around with very little to do as the wards are half empty.
Even A&E is by appointment only.

The Tories are saving hundreds of millions on health care spending and we are applauding them.

You would if you worked in some of the northern hospitals where ICUs are getting full and we are not in winter yet

Cheers bc4

I have a short on the DOW so my overall positions are hedged.
Fantastic opportunities in stocks though.
Governments will soon have to pull back on the fear propaganda , they will all go bust otherwise.

Even the so called virus hotspots with 500 cases per 100,000 .... that's 0.5% !!
And that's cases not illnesses, and that's a hot spot !

It is all about Government fear of what could happen - but it wont.
If I didn't have a telly I don't even think that I'd know there was a virus !

Each to his own, but re the sp, I really see this as an opportunity.

Leaders will eventually realise that we have to live with this virus and life will return to normal.

Well I had to cancel 3 weeks in Tenerife in December because when I came back I would not be able to see any relative or friends over Crimbo so you will have to be back for the 10th of December no good to me

they are already heavily booked up for 2021 at good pricing.

Many many people rebooked their flights this year for 2021 rather than take a refund - I did .

My expectation is that there will be a frenzy of demand in January / February.

Mallorca, between £2 and £3. Third wave of Covid will be underway by then. Hopes for an effective vaccine that can be scaled up for mass production will have ebbed away by this time next year. EZJ will be on its knees.

Where do you actually see the EZJ share price 12 months from now ?
For me it's £10 plus.
Old high was around £17

That's why i've loaded up .... very strong balance sheet and 100% gain in 12 months.

bc4,

with so many now working from home, a weeks quarantine may not be much of a problem.
Even two weeks and to hell with the test.

You may be very surprised by the demand for winter breaks.
People have had such doom they just want to get away.
The Canaries may do very well this winter.
Watch the share price spike when Shapps makes his announcement.

Retired couples don't need to pay they can stay in for 14 days for nothing like I have been doing so 9 days in quarantine is better than 14 days but for most it will not change that much
