I think there will be a huge impact Monday,COVID and now this, people won’t take chances on two big reasons not to fly.

If you read the full BBC report it's not as bad as the headline. The same could be argued for every airline worldwide. They all need a good summer 2021.Nothing new and don't think it will have any impact by Monday

Like the day Thomas Cook crashed 70% in one single day?

Could £1 to £2 be on the cards next week, with the dire news today about EZJ hanging by a thread?

I might get a chance to pile in here. I must confess i have been waiting for that support to break and a new downward spike to entail first. £2 to £3 not out of the question here looking at history

They need to let it crash so we can move on. It's just dragging. What's next, "50 million tests per day!?I suspect over the weekend it'll all be about how the "restrictions are working!" to distract the public from the actual facts, looming unemployment and major recession.I think I might buy in for a quick Monday trade but, long term, why is anyone in their right mind pressing the buy button for airlines!

Agree. All business flights now stopped in my company. There won’t be many family ‘winter sun’ holidays abroad this winter. And ski resorts already debating whether they’ll shut down for the season. I’d be surprised if EasyJet make it through frankly.

This is going only one way,the same as all the other travel companies, who with a sound mind will travel in the next 6months.I might look for autumn next year but not actively till August at earliest.

Looks like easyjet making no redundancies. Part time working. I think this means s first officer will be on 25k max on new contract. They will barely have any flights each over the winter. Not good for safety. Also more costs in terms of training. Not best for shareholders great for pilots if they can survive on 50pc pay.

Looks like the market is starting to price in a risk of EasyJet going bust now. Have they got enough cash to get through this? No way of knowing.

Airlines are toast. Yes agree but with the current financial climate that will be true for many sectors.TUI,EZJ all go bust? I doubt. One point gov have to realize that they got this wrong and lockdowns have not much effect. We have to bite the bullet and get on in any cost otherwise we will protect the minority on the cost of the majority. That won't work.

The market is finally waking up now to what was obvious 6 months ago. Airlines are toast.

Weekend news is not going to help airlines, even the mms will find it hard to make a market if most potential buyers are getting extremely wary, and who can blame them keeping their money behind the button.

Just be thankful management acted here - when the market bounced and got financing away. To see what would have happened otherwise, look no further than IAG.

Shareholders taking the pain.
