I am not against ezj at all, actually they have made me
much money when I bought in at 127p and moved out at over
1200p and upwards. But I do not feel the government should
help the airline industry not because of ezj but Ryanair,
they have behaved appallingly towards customers relating
to covid and the sooner they fail the better, taking motor mouth with them.

EZJ burns around £300m in a good year during winter months, this year it's likely to be far worse.

Stdyeddy, I think you’re spot on. All of my company’s meetings that previously involved lots of people flying in have just been rescheduled onto Microsoft Teams for 2021 and 2022. The only bit where I think you’re wrong is the vaccine being COMMONLY available by next Spring. There is almost no chance of that. Not enough horseshoe crabs available (to prevent toxins in the vaccines) is one of the main hurdles. Logistics of distributing it are likely to take 18 months to sort out too. And that’s assuming we actually find an effective vaccine which is far from certain. So my guess is around 3 to 4 years away.

All very well raising cash but do easyJet realise they do actually need some form of income to pay it back?In these new covid times, news of raises and increased debt is no longer considered "good" news it just speeds up bankruptcy.

Golden hour is over and the verdict is; down a bit. But I have to agree with the negative posters here. Unless someone can tell me differently, they appear to have enough cash for six months at which point the banks will possibly step in. I think EZJ is likely to run out of time. Vaccine will probably be commonly available by spring, but even then, the business model is fundamentally broken; I used to jump on a flight for a business meeting as did millions of others, but nowadays, no one will put up with the time and cost -- zoom and skype are the new travel medium. Some of the budget carriers will fall and in a shoot-out between RYA and EZJ, I think Ryan will prevail. I'm guessing easyjet will be gone by late spring 2021 or with a shareprice valued in pennies rather than pounds. Good luck to anyone long, but if I were you, I'd think seriously about either hedging the lot or getting out altogether.

A lot of red this morning. Finally some common sense and schoolboy maths (greater than R=1 it's technically impossible for us not to have a logarithmic rise, rule of six just prolongs the inevitable). These fake rises by Easy, Meggitt, TaylorW etc have just been manipulated up (just as they were about to gap down below their march lows) to soften the forthcoming news.

What's the value of second hand aircraft right now

I guess you can't give them away

Have any airlines written down the value of their fleets

From the update today;LiquidityeasyJet has taken swift and decisive action to raise over £2.4 billion in cash since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, from a diversified range of funding sources including debt and equity. Following the conclusion in August of the £608 million sale and leaseback programme, around 50% of the fleet remains unencumbered. easyJet expects to have 337 aircraft in the fleet as at end October. These measures have further underpinned easyJet's liquidity position and credit metrics while also enhancing our balance sheet strength to provide a significant liquidity buffer. With a cash position at 30 September 2020 of c.£2.3 billion, combined with the actions which we are taking on thinning our routes in Q1 and removing cost, it will enable us to conserve cash over the winter months. As previously indicated, easyJet will continue to review its liquidity position on a regular basis and will continue to assess further funding opportunities, including sale and lease backs, should the need arise. As at 30 September 2020 our net debt position was £1.1 billion (30 September 2019: £326 million) including cash and cash equivalents of c.£2.3 billion.

Might be one more day of climbing on all stocks. Everyone seems to be optimistic on a stimulus package from the US. I dont hold easyjet so just an opinion.
