Motley Fool today:

Dividend yield over 30%, shares down 60%: is Diversified Energy too risky?

"With a tanking share price, Diversified Energy’s dividend yield is ridiculously high. But I am holding firm with my investment because a dual US-listing may offer a return to stability..."

US volume picking up. Currently about 400k v 110k but obviously much longer to go in the US. I don't think it's going to beat UK but it's not so far off being on par at today's rates.

The 10-year debt pay-down was before the recent asset sale which they said reduced debt by 12%, possibly bringing the debt elimination forward to 8 years? There is also interest rate variation to consider but (from memory) only 18% of debt was subject to interest rate variation and most of that will have been in the 12% reduction, so ... I'll stick with about 8 years. We could have a clearer picture in a week's time.

Of course, companies do not have to drive debt to zero and few do. If reduction went well, then a bit more debt could be added to expand the productive asset base.

In fact DEC could cut and paste from the Oak Bloke's article for a full rebuttal if they feel the need, but I suspect that their plan is to let the results due anytime in the next week do the talking.

Additionally, squaring Diversified Energy’s end-of-life well closure programme against costs suggests it may be debt-free within 10 years. That’s significantly short of the average life of its viable wells of 50 years, some of which I have visited with Hutson.

Supersteven. its not flying - its skyrocketing

game over up for shorters looking to make money from this price.

its a real company with real assets selling an essential product. its not going to evaporate because there's a disagreement on assumptions on the ultimate destination of the business model a few years hence.

throwaway single purpose secondary identities are quite common on here, so much so in fact that I understand circa 1 in 25 of the UK population are avdfn subscribers
