Goodness - who the hell wants to buy this dead donkey, just ask around even at this extraordinary time when oil price is over $86 per barrel and even with almost daily buyback .

At 73p they are paying out 19.69% per year at today's exchange rate. The low exchange rate was cited as the reason for the first buyback scheme last year. That was executed much more vigorously but only lasted 28 days after we resumed the slide.
I sincerely hope they are planning something to get us out of this . If the finances are sound could not a predator snap them up for 90p and get a bargain ?

200k not bad very late on Friday at 4pm. The graph shows the shares were just spiking down again towards the day's low and that was reversed . If that was everyday and say 400k to 500k I am convinced that the price would stabilise.
I don't understand if institutional selling has brought the share so low why there have been no holding declarations for some time . Anyone ?

many many companies pass a "10%" buyback resolution in their AGMs. Most don't do it and never really intended to do it - what it does enable a company to do is but back the stock of a major holder should that be a good idea and remove a stock overhang.

I also notice a few director purchases this months, not large amounts but they are top ups to existing positions they already hold.

Current yield @75p = 16% gross - after deducting 15% US tax

Northern hemisphere 'winter' is quite a long period, gas use can remain elevated for 5 months. Just saying.

Sold on Thursday having made a small profit I expected this to move up quicker after the big drop but it seems to be going backwards again sentiment is not with this company atm.Got back into SEPl with the results coming in a few days oil prices going through the roof and a deal with Mobile on the horizon seems a good place to be dyor aimo

Well I sold those purely on no buybacks yesterday. Since there have been several director buys very recently I presume there cannot be any imminent announcement that would effect the share. That being the case we are left with only buybacks to combat this rout. I feel that the company is certainly not doing us any favours in both buyback execution and communication.

That makes perfect sense to me. If you are overweight, considerations apply which do not if you are less heavily committed. A risk you can afford is not at all the same thing as a risk you can't, whatever you hope/think/expect will come to pass.

I also hope it proves to a bad move, I really don't want to end up regretting not following suit.

fordtin that's correct but I bought and sold 3 times as they were dropping over the last 3weeks. 81p was my break even point. The last deal was a profit of around £5k but the others lost me 8k . I have tried to be patient but have a massive investment here and don't want to lose it all. My patience is frayed to say the least and no doubt my selling those few this morning will prove to be a bad move. I certainly hope so as I still hold considerably more.

lab - "Losing money" ?

last week you posted that you'd bought 54k shares at a fraction over 66p.
if you've just sold them, pesumably you got iro 75p?

That seems like a decent profit in just over a week.

Does anyone know when we can next expect any further announcement from the company? I certainly agree that it would be instructive to know the current intentions in relation to buy backs, and also what the current intentions are more generally.

At the start of the year a US listing was intended (now abandoned) and a transformative year was said to be in prospect, but nothing much has happened yet. I would be perfectly happy to hear that it is 'steady as she goes' for the time being, or that the powder is being kept dry for further acquisitions if and when they are available in the right places at the right price. Equally, if there has been a change of plan, it would be good to know what that is.

The posts on this board show that some indication of the BoD's current intentions would be welcome to shareholders, as was the RNS confirming that they knew of nothing internal to the company to explain the slide in the share price That was reassuring, though i can't say that the 'inflation' of job titles also announced filled me with any new fervour!

I can't foretell the future any more than anyone else can, oneillshaun, but if i had reached the conclusion you have as to what is likely here, I would not be posting here, because my finger would be occupied elsewhere, hitting the 'sell' button!!
