06/10/2023 07:02 | Tennyson yesterday: "Diversified Energy (DEC LN) has published a reactive statement to the market around its recent trading performance. The move follows a 17% sell-off in the stock in the past 3 trading sessions, triggered by macroeconomic headwinds and redemptions across the equity income fund sector (in the wake of remarks by the FED on Monday around rates). Importantly, as confirmed this morning, the strong underlying fundamentals of the business remain unchanged, and the company is unaware of any specific reason for the share price movement. " I note in this: "redemptions across the equity income fund sector" Which was suggested previously. | johnhemming

06/10/2023 06:34 | Yes very comforting. Sloppy RNS again though with incorrect total. They took the patient to the edge and at last are giving them some oxygen. I have been banging on about buybacks for almost a year and finally yesterday demonstrates how effective they can be. If they continue the share price will certainly recover as they mop up the seller whilst saving 20% every year in the future on each share bought. | lab305
06/10/2023 06:33 | Was it 200,000 or 500,000? Sloppy copy & paste again! | fordtin
06/10/2023 06:33 | Have we got an II selling..? A while back some funds were mandated to sell down their fossil fuel holdings regardless of the loss of income, I cannot recall which but I think it was a Scandi country.. Perhaps, some held here..? interesting to note the stronger DXY has hit Oil this week, after peaking at USD 95bbl, but gas is on a rip now the other way and up at over USD3.. | laurence llewelyn binliner

05/10/2023 17:26 | Well, those of us who bought today can at least console ourselves that even if the dividend is halved, we still get the same percentage return as we would have done if we had bought at the ATH and the dividend remains unchanged. If the dividend holds, a purchase at 66/67 is a gift, even if the share price does not rise. In fact though the share price must rise if the dividend holds: it is anomalous to be able to buy a sustainable income stream for five year's purchase, rather less than 5 years purchase for those holding in a SIPP. One side or the other of the equation has to move. So now we cross our fingers and toes, and remind ourselves of Buffet's assertion that he stock market is an instrument for transferring money from the impatient to the patient. | 1knocker

05/10/2023 16:33 | Added at 66 today. The Co went on record to there not being problems. I'm not sure what else they could have done.Stock caught up in the bond rout maelstrom (as is the case with most of my holdings!!) | smidge21
05/10/2023 16:06 | The worry is that this is a dead cat bounce, but I've still heard nothing to convince me the company has any problems we didn't already know about. | cassini
05/10/2023 16:01 | The large volume supporting the price jump is encouraging. | this_is_me
05/10/2023 15:55 | I have found reactions to RNS' can sometimes be delayed towards the end of the day, like someone just got around to reading it!. I note that the original sell-off on Monday started at 14:30 and today's recovery started at 14:30 also. Looks like the Yanks drove all of this, one way or another. | cassini
05/10/2023 15:44 | I wonder if the initial continued decline in the share price followed by a bigger rally (fingers crossed it is sustained) than we have seen for quite a while merely shows that most of the world took longer to learn of the RNS than those of us who have been following DEC closely? | 1knocker |
