09/11/2023 09:34 | Anyone knows why DEC stops doing Buyback. The last BB was 31 Oct.? Dec at 66p /67p is a good BB price not earlier just last month DEC bought even at 74p , such a waste of Co cash | stevensupertrader
08/11/2023 18:22 | #Aleman, that 6.79M UT does look interesting at 67.10 pence, then the 0.96M printed at 67.107 pence to finish, could well be our seller has now cleared, but will we see a TR1 next..? | laurence llewelyn binliner
08/11/2023 17:10 | assegai, company releases are always 'pleased' to announce. An an announcement f the imminent wnd of the world would be expressed in that for! Likewise change is always 'transformative', new acquisitions are 'exciting',and a rough patch is a 'challenging' period, which company is navigating successfully ... | 1knocker
08/11/2023 16:58 | It's a bit of a monster. I wonder what lies behind it. Have we finally cleared our recent persistent seller? Roll on Friday. | lord gnome
08/11/2023 16:47 | 6.8m UT trade? Is that significant? It feels like it might be in view of the dip at the end. | aleman
08/11/2023 16:45 | Traders/bad actors. | assagai
08/11/2023 16:27 | The whole energy sector is getting a beating. Look at BP. Yes, I know oil is getting hammered. Also though, the stock markets have stalled after the biggest up week so far this year last week, which is another headwind. I wouldn't read anything into that '...pleased to announce...' phrase in the last RNS. They've used that phraseology before, it's just pro-forma boilerplate. If they changed the phraseology to something downbeat to subliminally reflect a bad upcoming statement they'd be guilty of telegraphing the gist of the statement. I actually sold back out yet again late last Friday as the price totally ran out of momentum after my second, larger buy at ~71.6p (plus stamp). I made a tiny loss on the whole sorry transaction, only saved by a small buy I'd made at 66.95p which had lowered my average. Flip-flop... Unfortunately it's decision time again next week: do I buy back in again before the announcement on the 15th? I really want to. This trading DEC lark is just as stressy as holding DEC ;0) | cassini
08/11/2023 16:02 | Why choose the wording in the last RNS "is pleased to announce" the forthcoming trading statement on the 15th. If the trading statement is anything but positive the company would be crucified for choosing to say "pleased". Why on earth did DEC open a further 1.5+% down this morning. No reason, no trades to take it there. The share price is clearly being manipulated by bad actors working together and they will reverse this at some stage prior to the 15th. All messages/signals put out recently have been positive. Are they blatantly lying? Idoubt it..... | assagai
08/11/2023 14:11 | Only a month ago they released a statement saying they knew of no reason for the share price decline, sorely tempted to buy some for the ISA, but, I already own more than I'm comfortable with. If these recover in the coming months I'll be kicking myself, either that or I'll be patting myself on the back for missing a landmine, oh for a crystal ball. wllm :) | wllmherk
08/11/2023 13:41 | For better or worse I averaged down today if the stays as is then happy days. | oneillshaun
08/11/2023 13:11 | #6110 No, the logical stance is that one of two things are wrong here - either there is 'something wrong' OR the market has got it wrong. You can't simply come down in one side without countenancing the possibility of the other. | bluemango
08/11/2023 12:16 | Paying 21% dividend and at an all time low share price there has to be something wrong or bad news expected here. Why are the company not telling the story to the huge number of investors/fund managers that attend the Mello conference so buyers can get the valuation more sensible? We have invited the company | davidosh
08/11/2023 09:28 | Indeed.....if they increase or keep the divi the same......then people will be grabbing these for a 21% divi. | 11_percent
07/11/2023 19:54 | #6106 "or stays the same it drop" (sic) LOL! To the contrary; if it even just stays the same, there will not only be enormous relief and a halt to the decline, but also rather more buyers. | bluemango
07/11/2023 19:12 | If they drop it or stays the same it drop to 60p/50p | oneillshaun
07/11/2023 16:09 | Very much looking forward to the next set of results here 15th, to see if the company continue the progressive dividend policy and 4 equal payouts followed by a raise which we have seen since 2019.. 4 * 3.50 cents 4 * 4.0 cents 4 * 4.25 cents 4 * 4.375 cents 4.50 cents next or a hold..? | laurence llewelyn binliner
07/11/2023 14:13 | There's a map of gas extraction on Federal Lands here. Again, I think there is little of DEC's property covered by the new (Inflation Reduction Act) regulations unless anyone can provide evidence to the contrary. | aleman
07/11/2023 12:07 | @carcosa which particular link are you referring to? Bonding has been discussed on this thread a few weeks ago as well. | johnhemming
07/11/2023 10:44 | I think there was a link to a federal lands map earlier in the thread that showed little to no overlap with DEC properties. | aleman
07/11/2023 10:41 | JH, The plugging issue is directly addressed in the link I provided. And am pretty sure the $25k number comes directly from DEC! | carcosa
07/11/2023 10:39 | Federal land ownership is mentioned in their Sustainability report but clarity on the precise acreage would be helpful. Going forward, if BLM raise royalty rates then there is perhaps a mechanism where private landowners can do the same. In 2022 royalties of over $0.5b was paid. Perhaps worth querying at the forthcoming investors meeting. | carcosa
07/11/2023 10:36 | @aleman I think the broader issue of plugging is an issue on oil and gas more generally in the USA. It is not only plugging on federal lands, but also plugging which is subject to state regulation. What some states are doing is requiring bonding on existing wells when they are sold. The BLM proposals have a figure for multiple wells in a state. In the end, however, DEC are getting on with plugging wells. | johnhemming
07/11/2023 10:16 | carcosa 7 Nov '23 - 10:09 - 6096 of 6097 There has not been much, if any, discussion regarding the BLM Proposed Onshore Oil and Gas Leasing Rule which would affect DEC. Isn't that legislation that doesn't affect DEC because it (mostly?) does not operate on federal lands leased by government? | aleman |
